Hi,
I just had a really weird thing happen with the hard drive
on my PC. It had suddenly dropped to 400 Mb of free space,
then went up to 820, then 1.1Gb, dropped to 1Gb exactly, and
is now at 1.03Gb. What the hell is going on???
Thanks,
FutureImage.

Brought it up to 2.37GB by uninstalling eJay Music Director.
Why the hell that was on there when I've got Ableton Live 5,
god knows.

check the "virtual memory" section in the "advanced" tab of
your computer.

if you have it on "automatic" it can make things like you
said

It's the cache folder from Live. It's decoded all the mp3s
you've loaded in into WAV files. It takes SHIT loads of
space doing that.

It'll be in your

documents&settings/username/application data/

I think. I'm pretty certain that's the culprit.

so while we're on the subject would you recomend that i
'check the compress content to save disk space' square.
that's in the property tab of my HD?

Aaahhh, that's when it all kinda started, I was trying to
load a Der Zyklus track up into there when it said "there's
not enough memory blah blah blah blah".

I had a bit of a clearup last nite and i've got it back up
to over 4gb.

Nope, it's not on automatic but something like 1856Mb. It's
alrite now, I'm fine if it goes low for a bit, just like to
know what's going on.
