i dunno this seems to be a problem (or maybe solution?) that ive been having lately, where i start writing a track and it's just like this epic ending and then i have to write a new track for the begining.
does anyone else go through this or any other kind of non linear song makingage

I usually start making something that I at first move to the middle of the song, but then I delete it when the rest of the song is done and do something else there in stead...

I make a bit. God knows which bit it is but it just remains as a bit.

i have a lot of loops.
alot of the tracks start off as loops that just get expanded

The idea that a track has to be 'fleshed out' (if you only have a fragment) is, in my opinion, a damaging myth. Sure, sometimes you need progression. But sometimes, if you've got a good loop or fragment with a certain feel or vibe to it that you don't want to pollute, don't force more half-assed music onto the ends of it. Just let it stand alone. It may not be 'radio friendly,' but at least it won't be a compromise either.

making an intro when you know where its going just seems like making something weak so the next bit sounds better

Completely OT but on Jethro Tull's Witch's Promise it sounds like he's singing reversed. Some lines sound "normal" when you play the whole song backwards.

yeah!!! sometimes i've got just the ending and have to come up with the beginning... or the other way around. I find it annoying when this happens, so i usually just end up starting over.
but as i mostly come up with melodies and such on piano before hand, i rarely have this problem : )
