There may be one, there may not be one, but I'm creating
one now!

Laphroaig
Aardbeg
Smokehead
Jamesons
Balvenie

are appreciated!

by next month I may or may not also appreciate lagavulin,
but money need to be here first.

I do not appreciate

Famouse Grouse
all burbons (jack daniels, jim beam, whatever, corn ass
shit)

what's your favorite? APPRECIATE IT!

i have (well... my father has, i can't really afford it
anyway — even though i drink more than he does): Ardbeg,
Bruichladdich, Old Pulteney, Famous Grouse (and some various
miniatures).

i won't spit on the Famous Grouse, since it's the one that
got me into whisky; it's been a while since i tried it again
though, so i couldn't tell how i like it now. my favourite
is probably Ardbeg (the strongest in terms of flavour,
"peaty" etc); Bruichladdich tastes "fresher", though it's
still pretty strong (it's also near 60°/120 proof in terms
of alcoholic "strength"), and Old Pulteney is softer than
both. Old Pulteney claims to have "hints of sea air"; i
couldn't have told that by tasting it personally, but there
is a quite distinctive (though not overwhelming) flavour to
it.

yes, yes, but the cheapest still has to be one, and I just
want to know if he means, like, famous grouse-ish or
jameson-like, or whatever.. I can't really imagine tea with
whisky being good, but hey.. I got to try, maybe it
is...

Bells, Jamesons for moderately priced whiskeys. On the
rocks, naturally (snob). Thodob said it with Glenfiddich!
I'm hardly a connoisseur but I appreciate the stuff muchly.
Makes me feel all warm inside. You don't want to be near me
when i've had a go at a bottle.

yeah, I'm no connoisseur either, I just drink what I like,
and I think that's what other people should do.

however, I find it barbaric that you put ice in your
whisky!!! I WILL NOT STAND FOR IT! Stop that right now,
young man!

Glenfiddich is good stuff. I'm no authority on whiskey as
just about all the other brands I've had were cheap generic
types. But I did enjoy Glenfiddich, special reserve 12 year
I believe it was.

mmmm, this thread is making me walk upstairs to grab a
bottle of johnnie walker red ive been working on since
xmas.

ive been into scotch so much lately, altho irish whiskeys
have a special place as well.

one interesting bottle i had recently at a bar was simply
called "the knot" - a really sweet, smooth drinkable irish
with extremely strong vanilla hints ive rarely detected in a
whiskey.

there's nothing more manly than ordering rounds of double
scotch on the rocks for you and a few friends. unless youre
smoking a fat cigar on top of it.

Laphroaig taste like shit though

favroites:
Macallan 12 & 18
Highland Park 12 & 18 (i actually had 18 not long ago and it
is the best of all)

favorite everyday:
JW Black Label
Glenlivet

now, my father in law likes JIM BEAM and I must say that is
the WORST tasting alcohol ever (jagermister move away)

The Famous Grouse has to be some kind of Bucephalous
Bouncing Ball of whiskys. It has a reputation of drawing
people in.
Just yesterday I noticed how differently whisky works for me
on purely physical level. It really pumps you up with energy
very quicky and I can imagine it can be dangerous with
hot-tempered people. I've usually acccused vodka for making
furious gorillaz out of men, but it's a whole new level with
whisky and I guess I should be grateful that it's not
commonly drunk in Poland.
