U2 - Achtung Baby

I know lots of people here probably dislike U2 and hate
Bono, but whatever everyone else's opinions are of them, I
think this album is one of the finest rock albums I think
I've ever heard. It's definitely one of the most listened to
albums in my collection, partly because it's been there
longer then most of my other cds, but also just because I
never seem to get sick of. Musically it tops anything U2 has
done, lyrically it's some of the most poetic lyrics Bono has
ever written, and production wise it's a bit of U-Turn from
everything they released before. I'm just posting this
because I recently started listening to this again, and it's
blowing me away how good all the songs are. Zoo Station with
it's industrialesc beat... One with it's beautiful singing
and lyrics... The Fly with it's distorted guitars and
amazing guitar solo... it's all so good...

Anyway, just my thoughts! :)

yeah, it's their best album in my opinion (although most
people who hate U2 would go for "the joshua tree" or "war"
as their choice album instead)..

great album. only listened to 'so cruel' earlier.

"until the end of the world" is my favourite on it.

The Joshua Tree has some great songs on it. I mean, how can
you dis the first three songs there? They're each classic.
The last two as well, Exit and Mothers of the Disappeared
are two favorites of mine as well. Personally though I find
the songs in between aren't as good, and kind of suck in a
few places, whereas to me Achtung Baby is good all the way
through.

I like .... all of it really except "Who's gonna run your
wild horses" which sticks out like a very sore thumb on it,
though, for me.

It's an excellent album. And it was also the album I
listened to the summer I started going to parties and
meeting girls, so I got a lot of memories connected to the
songs.

hadn't given this album a thought for a very long time. I
might pull it out again and give it a listen.

It's a great album. They're a great band, but I'm not too
keen on their more "American" stuff (Joshua Tree).

Achtung Baby was my top 10 album once...along with Joshua
Tree....but in time i began disliking Bono so i lost the
interest in all U2 music. and in fact there are lots of
better bands than them. U2 became kind of a pop product
meant to expose Bono's ego, it seems.

i remember making fun of Zooropa a lot...
i don't think i;ve ever heard Achtung besides the
singles...
but i always thought Joshua Tree was weird for the first
handful of songs being the only ones that were blasted on
the radio

I never liked One and the horrible duet version made me hate
it, but apart from that it's a great record, quite possibly
their best. Joshua Tree is enjoyable as well, Bullet The
Blue Sky is coolie
