hello, i'm looking for some nice piano music that will help
me relax, because i don't relax nearly enough i think. kind
of like really melodic, slow stuff. i have this one track
that i got from a thread here a while back, the person's
name was G®untels, and it says the track is called
"missing"... i'll upload it if putfile would work, but i'm
looking for some stuff like that

Well if indie cred, or reputation in general, isn't
something you're bothered with there's all kinds of relaxing
stuff at your fingertips. Just go to any Target or Walmart
and pick out some of those mood music CDs or get some
Yanni/Michael Bolton/John Tesh etc. Or stream some stations
from Shoutcast, I'm sure there's lots of stuff like that. :)

good idea

i just went on some shoutcast stations and found something i
liked, anyone heard of this matthew florianz bloke? it's
kind of dark and drony, but still relaxing in its own way

lalala, you might wanna try
chopin's raindrop prelude (as well as the beforementioned
nocturnes, yes... i'd recommend to generally get into his
oevre, i think alot of his work fits the description of the
moods you desire to achieve by listening bla), satie's
gymnopédies
or maybe something more melancholic: ravel's gaspard de la
nuit, for a "real" classic beethoven's mondscheinsonate (the
adagio), air from suite no. 3 in d by bach, parts of
schumanns gesänge der frühe/träumerei... i don't remeber
by whom, but i once heard an interpretation of the second
movement of dvorak's "new world" symphony which could work
well hmmm...
to be honest i didn't check you reference track, but i can
honestly recommend the listet peaces as melodic, slow and
more/less relaxing/reflective...

oh and i almost forgot: VERY soothing and umm...
"insightful" (haha, sorry for my english) is arvo pärt -
für alina/spiegel im spiegel
(his work is generally (piano or not) a tip if you like
"meditative" stuff... his so-called tintinnabuli style works
or two of my orchestral favourites "cantus in memory of
benjamin britten" and "fratres" aaah *sigh*)

Soundtrack to Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain by Yann
Tiersen. Not just piano, but the piano tracks are awesome.

o.O

... well, i could find alot of nice words about taylor's
playing, but "relaxing"... haha... at least "spiritually
engaging" it is for sure :)

... jeesh, wrote pieces as peaces back there... probably
freudian slip, considerung the moods LA requested :)
