There is a Jimi Tenor-concert in my town this friday.
Anyone heard him live? Any music-recommendation?

when i lived in london in the mid 90's, i saw him live in a
tiny pub, his setup included loads of cheap mini casio
keybords. spaceways? remember that/ it was pre-warp when he
was at his best, nice clothes too =)

it's so embarrasing, that always when people here talk about
finnish music, i don't know much about even though i'm from
the very country... ovuca, brothomstates, pan sonic, and now
jimi tenor...

but what i've heard (a few tracks) from tenor, it's amazing
stuff...

if you money to spear, go see him.

here's some more music from finland...

I'd love to see Jimi Tenor live!!! he's fucking mental and I
love a lot of his music. You can be sure he'll be dressed
like an andy warhol looking madman. He was on warp but got
dropped recently

He was dressed like a lab technicia when I saw him. Why was
he dropped?

Basically (from what he said in an interview) warp wanted
him to decide whether he was going to be mainstream or more
underground....but tenor didn't know and didn't want or see
the point in having to decide. I think he was pretty glad to
leave too. Also, warp thought he was spending far too much
on his live shows in comparison to his record sales like
some of the other big warp names.

He's got his own clothes line, but there are only shops in
Finland

What Jimi Tenor-record should I start with?

The concert was really great. And Jimi himself looked like
the child of Ziggy stardust and Elton John

I really like 'out of nowhere' I haven't had the chance to
hear all of the other albums though. Jimi Tennor is just so
swanky cool. He rocks.
