wow, this guys music is absolutely awesome! But why is it
i'm not eager to tell my friends of my new music discovery?

At first i thought he was just a one hit wonder with Tubular
Bells but a lot of his other albums are even better, The
Songs of Distant Earth, Ommadawn, Five Miles Out...

Anyone else a fan?

i wish my parents played me music like this when i was a
child!

i tried listening to Amarok but i can't get into it at all,
and its considered one of his best albums...

anyone got his latest double cd set Light and Shade?

I can't think of Mike Oldfield now without imaginaning, Moon
Light Shadow playing while the environmentalist guy minces
down the road past burning tires. What was that show? The
fast Show?

" wow, this guys music is absolutely awesome! But why is
it
i'm not eager to tell my friends of my new music
discovery?"

Reason nr1. by Dirty Priest:

"My dad used to play this one when i was
kid."

Reason nr.2: You don't want your friends to suspect that you
could have a pair of bleached tight fitting jeans with
denim blouse to match hiding in your closet.

oh god yes, Mike Oldfield's music is fantastic. I've just
listened to Tubular bells twice today. I think I've probably
heard it over a thousand times at least.

I'm really in the mood now. For the weekend I think I'll
have a few plays of hergest ridge, incantations and ommadawn
just to get it out of my system. (until the next time).

seduce me by inviting me over to his house to listen to Mike
Oldfield.

age 3 i was , hence me nuttyness, i loves it :P .

music of the spheres sounds really pompous, in a bad way..
his titles like 'musica universalis' (wtf?) combined with
the ultracheesy arrangements doesnt make this very
pleasant.

never the less it does sound like a score for a movie and
has some good ideas, but it does give off a rather self
important image which turns me off

Meh, I own Tubular Bells, and parts of it are nice. I know
he played all the instruments himself (I think), but it
still sounds sloppily done.
