I saw the movie once. I guess it's like taxi driver in that it made a lot of waves for being extremely violent by standards back then but by today's standards is rather boring and mild. The chainsaw to the face scene was the only main bad part but it was much easier to stomach that than say parts of pulp fiction. |

I just like it as a good film, although I don't think it's one of the best gangster films because it's set in Miami 83 and looks like shit for it. The chainsaw scene is like in Texas Chainsaw Massacre when Leatherface puts the chick on the meathook... it's all suggested. I've got a mate who couldn't get past the chainsaw scene but is quite happy to watch Joe Pesci get pummelled with a baseball bat then buried alive in Casino... I can't understand that. |
