Hi everybody,

we are organising a festival in Brussels and I thought that
maybe put the flyer on watmm could be a good idea. Don't
know if there are many belgians here but it maybe worth the
try.

It's the first time we do such a thing and we hope we would
be able to keep it alive troughout the years.

Here is a link to the website: BEIF2006

it was totally awesome...

some really good surprise guests such as Fabrice du
Busquiel, designer of the µ-ventury (sound on sound µ-ventury II review), came
with modular synths prototypes of their own and made a
little jam which is probably my best memory of the whole day
=)

lots of nice people with a common interest in synths and
music + cheap beer = maximum fun combo !

Yeah, that would have been great, apart from the fact that
the µ-Ventury sounds as though it sucks.

lol

did you heard it? did you try it?

or are you talking shit because you read in sound on sound a
review of an unfinished product from 3 years ago?

:)

Oh wait....

Have they made it a lot better? I looked at the "modules" it
had and it looked like a bad choice so I was put off that a
bit. I'd like to hear one.

fabrice told me that the model sound on sound got wasn't
totaly finished unfortunately (mainly the tuning issues) so
the review doesn't really represent the final product
the unit he brought was coupled to a prototype
mini-sequencer and another module i don't remember well (it
didn't have any inscription for the knobs or in's/out's)

but it's clear that it's expensive compared to other
solution (it's, after all, designed and assembled by one
man) and that it is designed to make noise rather than
music

what is very interesting is that it offers a very unique and
weird design in a very compact case so you end up with
sounds unlike other type of modular synth and it's very easy
to explore many sound transformation without having a big
setup in front of you

Ok, you might like my Black Box synth once it's finished
then.

what is it gonna be? pure DIY or with kits, modular
modules?
what will be the specs? :p

Well, I'm taking circuits from all over the place really.
It's mainly very raw sounds, the Black Box oscillator
(circuit made by me) is crazy and will sound lush thru some
heavy analog filters.

It will run off vactrols (LED + LDR) instead of the
conventional OTA system, just to make it easier.
