Golden... In fact, a lot worth reading on here.
5. Way too risky.
Many employees believe getting a job is the safest and most secure way to support themselves.
Morons.
Social conditioning is amazing. It’s so good it can even make people believe the exact opposite of the truth.
Does putting yourself in a position where someone else can turn off all your income just by saying two words (”You’re fired”) sound like a safe and secure situation to you? Does having only one income stream honestly sound more secure than having 10?
The idea that a job is the most secure way to generate income is just silly. You can’t have security if you don’t have control, and employees have the least control of anyone. If you’re an employee, then your real job title should be professional gambler.

"6. Having an evil bovine master.
When you run into an idiot in the entrepreneurial world, you can turn around and head the other way. When you run into an idiot in the corporate world, you have to turn around and say, “Sorry, boss.”
Did you know that the word boss comes from the Dutch word baas, which historically means master? Another meaning of the word boss is “a cow or bovine.” And in many video games, the boss is the evil dude that you have to kill at the end of a level.
So if your boss is really your evil bovine master, then what does that make you? Nothing but a turd in the herd.
Who’s your daddy?"
ha ha, I'm sorry, I can't take this guy seriously. it's all a bit too "respect the cock and tame the cunt"..

I have no idea how I should interpret your comment..
anyway - there is such a thing as a good boss. I've had a great boss, who really cared for the people under him, who really tried to make everyone feel at home.
this kind of black-or-white interpretation of the world is silly, it'll make anyone sound like a bit of a dick. apparently.

Society couldn't support itself off of small companies, the economy would collapse. This culture needs large companies, simply because consumers need something to focus on, either negatively or positively.

using internet advertising to make money is interesting to me. I've never even had a website, but I sort of have an ability to neurotically study systems like that and find cool tricks and loopholes to put me ahead of the competition. I don't know much about this stuff yet, but one thing that comes to mind is putting all known internet memes on your internet page for no reason other than to exploit their popularity in search engines. ('motherfucking snakes on a motherfucking plane', 'goatse', 'tubgirl', 'hampster dance', etc etc.) just have a big list... maybe white letters on a white background so nobody can even see it to increase your google page rankings/site hits? Or have multiple sites instead of 1, all linked to eachother as much as possible since google is partly based on links. wikipedia is linked to hell and is often in the top, but maybe because other sites link there. Maybe you could make it so the very nature of your site is for users to contribute their own links and stuff (wikipedia, myspace). all you really have to do is have the site... everyone else makes it for you and you get all the money.

yeah, it has an ebook feel but instead of selling an ebook he is using advertising and donations. People maybe donate only thinking this is how it's done so may be returned to them tenfold when they employ the same techniques. He could easily lie about how much money he makes.. it's in his best interest to get people interested and come to his site. It's intersting because the subject matter itself is about making money in such a way, so people will automatically be thinking about donating to him. I did learn something interesting there though, the 'million dollar homepage'... where some guy made a million dollars by selling advertising pixels... what an ingenious money making gimmick. Oops I made a million in 3 months. And you just know there are other such gimmicks out there and it is only a matter of finding them. The internet is such an experimental frontier still.

have you tried it/ can confirm that it works? I should really try it because I'm curious. You might not even feel like a whore because the internet is such a weird experimental place... do you think the guy that made 'fatchicksinpartyhats.com' and such are rich (if they use advertising somehow?) If that's the case I wouldn't mind getting rich by making fun of people.. xltronic must have a lot of traffic but does adsense or whatever really pull in that much here? Maybe you need your core audience to be the type of internet dummies that would even click on that type of stuff. If you had a company would you actually buy a piece of adsense, hoping people would click on your link ultimately resulting in buying your product/service/etc maybe? The internet might become different in many ways soon (changing rapidly) so many things might be rendered obsolete, but maybe new things would open up..

A small business economy is really nice sounding, but at the lifestyle that most north americans seem to want to live in, they need manufacturers that can produce goods of reasonable quality for not very much.
Its loosly similar to this: if everyone involved in the growing, picking, processing, transportation, ect of coffee, it would cost nearly 800 dollars a cup. In order for coffee to be as cheap as it is now, not only are they going to require massive amounts of people for the cheap labor land and transportation costs of a third world country, they are going to require machinery and other tools. The price of that equipment is made cheaper, because larger companys have the time and money to develope technologies that smaller companies would not be able to do on their own. It seems like a stretch, but coffee is just a small part of what we consider life. The same goes for everything, from gaming consoles, to records, to paper, to transportation, to movies, to nearly everything we eat. Large companies not only make things cheaper and easier to make as a whole, they also have developed a market of really stupid people who are willing to buy whatever has a companies name on it.
Anyways, I am half asleep. That probly came out much worse than it should have.

I forgot what you said but I know that I wanted to say that this guy is the 10% of the population writing for that 90% of the population. Maybe it's 20-80, or whatever. 'Jobs' are a good way to reign in the underclass's effort so it doesn't go astray. This guy is just getting money from telling them that. I don't really like being reminded that I hate my job though. I think everything that he's saying is quite obvious, it might be re-inforcing for some people.

I went around to my mate's student house 3-4 years back, and he 's just got his own web connection, so he's looking at porn. He complains to me, "This internet porn is completely overrated, every site has the same women on it, and very similar layouts." I thought that was odd, cause one thing there is a lot of variety in is web porn. Turns out he had a virus that redirected him to a russian porn webring everytime he clicked to a like that had keywords like "sex" or "lesbians" or whatever.(lol) Then we found out that quite a few people we knew had the same thing. So whoever set that up must have made a fortune.
