it does, it's a great album with a varied palette of sound. very good songwriting. reminds me of beach boys mixed with bark psychosis. lovely stuff. |

i've been listening to this album a bit of the last few days. on first listen i was very surprised, not what i was expecting at all, and a nice change to the current plethora of shit rock bands out at the moment. the flute parts always remind me of polyphonic spree. |

i've been liking this album more and more, i think it's gonna turn out to be one of my 06 faves, which says a lot. there has been a shitload of great music this year. |

i know veckatimest is probably one of the most hyped albums this year, but for once the hype is actually justified. simply put, it's a fucking gorgeous album that just gets better with each spin. in theory the song structures shouldn't really work, but they pull off everything without sounding pretentious. i love the fact that they seem perfectly able to write simple and accessible pop songs, but instead they intentionally venture into some sort of unknown songwriting territory. a really unique album that i definitely will play a lot this summer -- sitting on the porch, drinking beer. fuck yeah. |
