Yeah that sucks, they said there have only been 3 cases ever
of this reported in Austrailia, and only 17 cases reported
worldwide...freak thing.

RIP

-ps like Jivver said it had nothing to do with his
appearance but "he made nature fun for loads of kids"

Best of luck to his wife and child left behind

Wow, I for one didnt expect this at all. Considering how
many people have a similar job, and he being the most famous
I assumed he would have a whole convoy of people keeping
shit like this from happening. I never knew that he was in
any real danger when I saw him on tv.

You honestly believe his enthusiasm and character is "put
on" for the camera?
He has done more for australian wildlife than you could ever
imagine, have you even been to his "Australian Zoo" which he
did still work at on occasion.
Sure he did a shit movie and a few gay ads but i guarantee
it was to support and fund his passion of helping the
australian wildlife.

I dont think i have ever seen anyone love LIFE as much as
him....
I feel very sory for his wife and both his kids, especially
the one who was with him at the time (8 yr old daughter)

RIP steve.

He seemed a good, genuine, man who cared so much about life
and what it had to offer. He experienced more in 44 years
than most people would experience in 440 years of their 9-5
lives. He will be missed but he did make a difference while
he was here.

Man he must have been terribly disappointed to be taken out
by a stingray, after all the ferocious predators he
manhandled. :(
From what I've read these creatures, though dangerous, are
non-aggressive.
Most impressive and insane was when he dove in croc waters
in the middle of the night because he thought he spotted one
under water, and he came up with one too.

it's a huge shame, i have to like a guy who was so into
sharing his interests with the world. i probably wouldn't
know what a wombat was, otherwise.

Yeah I do believe it was put on for the camera, and now
people like wolfslice think of people like steve as a
typical aussie as a result of his act. We all know everyone
in australia is like Dame Edna.

Yeah but a loveable tit.

Any bets that they got his death on tape? Think it'll hit
the net? I'm not watching it for 'shock value', I'm
seriously curious to how it all happened. Stingrays aren't
aggressive.

Hell, I thought that he'd simply been stung and pumped so
full of poison he'd just died, but it looks like the big
fuckerr actually stuck it's barrbed sting into his
chest like a harrpoon.

thinking about it, that's what probably killed him instantly

I don't think so, no. more kind of abrassive, annoying.

his programmes used to bore me to tears.

he didn't have to die, you know, but it doesn't
affect me.

evils : He should have left it in?!
HAHAHA! Fuck dude, if your UNDERWATER and a STRINGRAY drills
through your chest into your HEART with it's TOXIC BARB,
"Get it off of me" is probably the first thing that comes to
mind.

I use to tape the Crocodile hunter! I loved that show, Steve
Irwin kicked ass! His wife is actually really cool too, it
was always funny watching the 2 on television!

I thought the show was great, and the guy was always really
entertaining! And all the good stuff he did with his cash, I
think the guy deserves tons of respect!
