Do autechre and aphex twin hate each other?

i was just wondering

why aphex twin never plays an autechre track in his sets its
kinda weird. i know autechre is very different then aphex
stuff but he never said anything about them being good or
something

from autechre i only know they think didgeridoo is the best
aphex track but they didnt even play one aphex track in
their 7 hour djset

Richard stopped talking to Sean and Rob when theygot to big
for their boots and started making their own music (around
the confield time) instead of getting paid to mime to aphex
tracks that richard had remixed in soundforge and released
under the name autechre.
Similar to what happened with the Global Goon stuff after
vatican nitez.

D. James has said an interview a couple of years ago that
"confield" was the first Autechre album that he actually
liked.

in the same interview he also mentioned that he and the
Autechrers e-mailed eachother samples and whatnot on a
regular basis.

I don't see why that would be something to respect them
about. They didn't bring anything anywhere.

I think Rob Brown had a kid a year back, so he certainly did
bring something somewhere.

I would say "hu hu hu" but that would instantly make me
sound like a bit of a cock.

i dont think its possible to dislike a person and then
collaborate musically with that person and be able to
produce a LOT of REALLY good music

offline Taxidermist from Black Grass on 2006-09-02 00:14 [#01963827]

I was under the impression that most of the people on warp
were cool with eachother. But autechre seem like the kind of
people that wouldn't see the point in hating any producers,
and find more of a mild annoyance with musicians that have a
tenancy to do things they don't like. So a grudge against
someone on their label, who is to a certain extent making
music for the same ends, would seem like something they
would feel they were too good for. Likewise, aphex is the
kind of guy who would only openly admit to a grudge if it
would cause that person to get irked.

There was a rumor that squarepusher hated Ae a few years
back too. In an interview, he stated that he had a lot of
respect for them and that they were the sound of the
future.

why would they play each others tracks in their dj sets at
all?, shouldn't they play something you HAVEN'T heard
instead? I thought the point of a dj set was to hear new
music, if you're going to an afx gig and all he plays is
tracks you could listen to at home, I know I'd feel ripped
off.
