Don't sweat it. I haven't had a girlfriend in ages, and the last one I did have started to drive me crazy the second we started going out. The grass is always greener. Just acknowledge this fact and carry on with other, less painful distractions. And anyway, about the signifiers, I think you're correct. Thankfully the only signifier we have online is your (good) choice of avatar. Aside from that I only know you seem pretty damn cool based on what we've exchanged here and I regret that many of the coolest people I've talked to here are separated by at least one ocean. Fuck the signifiers, and fuck the 'loser' label - which of course is simply another artificial signifier produced by those who happen to excel in equally arbitrary areas which they feel entitle them to the right to make assertions about 'the other'.
