But a lot of the articles you can read on the net are very long and detailed.

A magazine is more tangible. You can actually sniff the pages.

There are still some books that aren't covered as well on the internet- like 'a new kind of science' and 'the selfish gene'.
Television is absolute trash. That'd be cool if everyone agreed to set aside 1/4 of their computer for a huge internet experiment or something where an 'internet programming language' was made that treated all these donated connected computer sections as neurons n shit like that n shit.

i barely ever watch telly now, except the news occasionally. if theres anything half-decent on, i will download it / buy it on DVD.

I still read books, I've just finished Pascal Bussy's one about Kraftwerk. (It's a bit dry and matter-of-fact, but interesting anyway.) I just don't see the point in watching and reading really generalised, lowest common denominator stuff like soaps and tabloids.

I still like TV because it's the only format in which you can be even lazier/more passive than the Internet. Reading news on the Internet, for example, involved pointing and clicking (and sitting upright).

I think it's youtube that killed TV for me. Even if the quality sucks, I don't really care if I'm watching a comedy sketch or something.

I still love to read and concentrate on one thing for hours. I read Simon Reynold's Rip it Up and Start Again in a couple of weekends.
