yeah, that arovane/phonem thing was pretty dull, but collabs don't always suck, ever heard S.H.A.D.O 2 on Fax? collab between Pete Namlook and Bobby Bird (HIA, System Error). It stands amongst some of the best electronic music ever made IMO and far surpasses anything the two artistes did alone (which is saying something as they are both great artistes in their own right, especially Bobby). it's actually pretty boring.. i mean yeah theres the nostalgia element, and yeah the middle > end of envelope diving 2 is kinda good, but come on, theres not ONE innovative thing on here. metadeta is funky sure, but i dunno, this kind of slams the nail in the idm coffin if you ask me. |
