.......say, Tri Repetae and earlier.......when they placed
more emphasis on melody...... Proem echoes this, and expands
on it.

well done Proem.

Proem is far more warm and playful. Most underrated musician
on this board, imo.

Have you listened to his album "Socially Inept?" It's one of
my top 5 albums of all time. Every song a masterpiece.

is autechre.

Proem is overrated. Kind of a step backwards for the ammount
of praise he gets when it happens.

overrated? Proem is hardly rated at all, rarely discussed
on this board. I agree he's not breaking new ground, but
what he does he done beautifully, with great balance. Give
me this over dull beat-fuckery any day.

Proem used to get a lot more attention back when he was new
to publishing stuff, but I agree, not much attention is
given to him here. But all the stuff I have heard sounded
kind of contribed, uninspired and poorly produced.

I believe they once placed more emphasis on melody
than they have in their more recent releases..... not that
this is in any way a bad thing, it's just what they're doing
now and more power to them..

staz is the last person I'd trust when it comes to
music (I mean come on! a cheap ass copy cat who likes
generic cheesy acid).

seriously dont get me wrong but Proem is like IDM preset,
its not like hes a stand out or anything like that...hes
good tho, liking some of his stuff, some tracks are very
good indeed on, socially inept...a good tips, will check
that out and report back after I listen to it, it was long
ago since I listened to Proem..I remember that he did some
fantastic tracks tho.

Now im getting a bit worried when im thinking about it, fuck
it, Proem is very nice :D going to dig up some Proem records
right now.
