for anyone who cares i now have about half my hearing back.
still ringing but the last few days it has improved each
day so im hoping it continues like this.

this has all been really healthy for my love of sound.
anyone ever take hearing for granted?

I take hearing for granted. If I ever lost it, I'd OD on
something and die a very unhappy death. Music is all I
really love. So when I heard that you may have lost some of
yours, I just thought how horrible it must be. Good to hear
that's it's improving, though. :-)

i hope you get your hearing back!

i would go insane if i became deaf. i would rather lost my
sight. that would suck big time too though. but not to be
able to listen and make music...

people! take care of your ears!

yeah, losing one ear made me think about losing both. ive
played in a few extremely loud hardcore bands before on
keyboard (my right ear always facing the band...) probably
up around 120db or more. hearing loss starts at 80db. but
this makes me have second thoughts about continuing this.
or at least to buy some ear plugs.

i gave deafness some honost thought and it actually kinda
broke my heart for a while. everyday since the first day i
discovered music when i was around 10 has been completely
filled up with music. i would think about it litterally
24/7. this week has been the first time that i stopped
thinking about it simply because i was unsure if the dream
was dead or not. very strange thing to experience.
what do you think about when youre not allowed to think
about your dream anymore? im not sure.

ahhhhhh, you have yet to learn about "ear plugs"? im 27 and
use them all the time at concerts and loud events..my
hearing is just fine (or so they all say) its not worth
losing your hearing over anything.....

my friend who was 20 or so at the time lost some of his
hearing at a MELVINS show....
the little kid (age 11) who im involved with big brothers
big sisters...his dad is an engineer (railroads) and he had
a train go by him when he was yournger, now he has permanent
dammage....poor little man............

oh yes ive decided after all this that ear plugs are a
beautiful thing. this friday im seeing a friend of mine
perform(drum and bass kind of stuff) and hes borrowing one
of my keyboards for the show and i plan on wearing ear
plugs.

that's my worst nightmare..losing my hearing. But i'm aware
of it, because i listen to music everyday a bit too loud.

i'd rather go blind than deaf.

Good for yu, it's coming back.
Being deaf for a music-lover is like being blind for a
paintings amateur.

It's not so bad, I mean I've only ever heard out of my right
ear until I had a special hearing aid implant in which
electromagnetic signals bypass right into the organ that
sends the signals into the brain. So yeah, I don't know
what stereo sounds like. ^_^
