even if the protesters were protesting for their rights to
kill black people?

Lets be reasonable here; if you had had to listen to her
grating voice for half an hour as those poor riot police
did, wouldn't you consider shooting her?

The footage of the bloke being shot repeatedly as he was
running away was good. I thought he was dancing at first. I
think there's potential to make an animated .gif of it, or
even "mash it up" into a full length music video.

you can't honestly be serious. it was a peaceful protest.
the police didn't even need to be there

what an odd thing to protest against.. it's a bit vague,
isn't it?

anyway, yeah, the cops were way out of line, but I find
nothing about the incident to warrant anything but curiosity
on my part.

a characteristic of unpeaceful protests is often they are
peaceful until they get unpeaceful

it was an accident or something and nobody got hurt in a
mentionable way

Protestors always do this;

They hold up the traffic, wind up the police for hours and
hours, getting themselves more and more worked up, until
someone on either side loses their rag and it kicks off.

Afterwards, they then bang on about how it was largely a
peaceful protest and how it was obviously an agent
provoceteur (police plant) who threw the brick from their
ranks at the police which allowed the police to storm in and
caused it to descend into a riot.

There's a reason the police turn up at protests; they often
get nasty.

Cruisin' for a bruisin',I'm talkin' no crap
Pipe bomb in my trunk, got a nine in my lap
I'm layin' for a sprayin',tonight there's no playin'
My posse's most strapped,tonight the crew's weighin'
Dust is burnin',the steering wheel's turnin'
I'm out a week,I'm already earnin'
Suckers crossed,tonight it's their loss
Payback time,boy,life's the cost
Gauges out the window, one lay cross the roof
They all die if those suckers ain't bullet proof
I'm rollin' death tollin',of course the car's stolen
But I'm blind to what's wrong,all I want is what's golden
A fool in a fight, too dumb to know right
Fuckin' blue light-read'em their rights

Drama [x4]

Copped an alias bailed out in an hour or less
I keep a bank for that don't know about the rest
Copped another piece, hit the dark streets
Rollin' once again, fuck the damn police
Called up my friend JOE, a roof job pro,459 on his mind car
stereos
He said the spot was sleep,he cased the joint a week
3 a.m. on the dot inside we creep
Got Alpines,Fishes,JVC's,
Motorola Phones,Sony Color TV's
Had the hide packed up till we heard freeze
Fuckin' blue lights-read'em their rights

Drama [x4]

4 in the morning, lights in my face
That's the time, you know the place
Cuffed in the room with the two-way glass
Detects in effect cold doggin' my ass
"What's your date of birth?"..."What's your real name?"
I stuck to my alias,I know the game
If they don't know who you are, then they don't know what
you've done
"You're just makin' this harder on yourself, son"
I know this shit by heart,I'm too clever
"Have you ever been arrested before?"
"Nope,never"
Da reject all over his face
You see no confession,no case
Then my boy started illin',talkin' and tellin'
Son of a bitch-he was a snitch

Drama [x6]

Under I went,I caught a case and half
He dropped the mallet, then the judge laughed
Now I'm in the penzo, chillin' like a real pro
I can't move until the man says go
A puppet of the big game,an ins

i could never get myself to protest

i was pretty sure i would be on the right side when the
protests against the coming invasion in iraq were, but i
still couldn't.
it's not my scene i guess..
holland has a really small show up anyway ever since the
protests against the nuclears america planted here
i think it's because of the scene of anarchists and squaters
who monopolized the protests in the 60s and 70s. actually
they monopolized it and the people who joined in were the
decent citizens (like how hooligans now join protests to
start trouble)

from what i've seen the police usually make it worse. what's
their purpose of being there anyway? are the protesters
going to start fighting against their own people? most
protests consist of 1 group of people and a large number of
police. if the police weren't there then no violence would
happen.

If you watch the video that's linked to beneath this video,

basically it's an anti-globalisation demonstration. it's not

ok, i just watched the first 40 seconds, the headline is bad
and the video is crappily edited: i thought it was just one
bullet

i assume less peaceful protest going on in the city like
that spokesman in the second video says so that's why they
were on edge, but all that shooting seems wrong
i agree with ceri there that antiglobalists aren't totally
guilt free of the escallations here and elsewhere, they have
no respect for property. they wreck for ten of thousands of
dollars while they'd better send that money to africa for
whom they are supposedly protesting, but really it's an
excuse for living it up

He's not talking about anti-globalists, he's talking about

ok i can barely make head nor tail of that poorly written
post, but one point to which i will respond was the one on
which you agreed with Ceri.

Yes, anti-globalists aren't guilt-free when it comes to
protest - a lot of them do turn violent. But one must look
to the anarchist groups bent on turning them that way, the
groups with an agenda and manifesto that states that
peaceful protest is impotent, groups like the wombles, etc.

But ignoring the qualities and moral fibre of the
anti-globalist argument, just because of a minority of
troublemakers (and implanted agitators), would be totally
ignorant. It's equatable to saying that "all muslims are
fucking worthless terrorist cunts".

When you look at the arguments for anti-globalisation and
globalisation (in its realized form, in the form in which it
exists today), it's clear that the anti-globalists have the
moral highground, despite the actions of a select few
troublemakers.

and by the way, it doesn't matter if it's just one fucking
rubber bullet. it only takes one bullet to kill, and they
fired it straight at her fucking forehead.

i'm sorry i'm getting heated up about this, but i can't
believe they're using rubber bullets against such a peaceful
protest. it's understandable in the north, at marching
season, when things go fucking mental and half of Drumcree
is set alight, but this is just madness.

Protests are like Formula 1 races which you only watch in
case there's a crash. You only go to a protest to see either
a police horse get hit with a bit of wood with nails driven
through it, or some hippy shot in the forehead.

It doesn't matter what they're protesting about, that's not
the issue. The fact is, it was a completely peaceful protest
and the police decided to shoot the protestors. If you've
not watched the video yet, you should watch it in order to
give an unbiased review.

I thought it was kind of funny for the first few seconds
when she got shot in the leg. the whole, "ohemmgee did
everyone see that i got shot in the leg holy shit peaceful!"
was so typical. but after that it pretty fucked up that they
kept shooting at them, especially firing above the waist,
because i know for a fact that one of those in the stomach
or head is capable of killing a person. i can't really blame
most of them, though, if i put myself in their position;
they probably didn't care in the least about the protest and
just wanted to end it somehow and go home.

also, i don't agree that police should stay away from
protests until they become violent. if they had done that
over here in Seattle at the WTO riots, things would've been
a whole lot worse i think. the protesters (and i know it was
probably just a few bad ones) were just breaking windows in
random businesses for no apparent reason, and they probably
wouldn't have stopped at that if something hadn't been done.
usually, once something like that starts, it just gets worse
and worse, which is why the police should be there from the
beginning so that it doesn't have a chance to get any worse.

always keep in mind the people will always outnumber the

when the time comes that they have to use real guns with
real bullets to oppress... they'll still be fucking
