Yeah! the Pixies rock! I learned about them form that song
at the end of fight club, and I promptly went and bought all
their CDs, goes to show, rock can kick ass! The Breeders are
supposed to be coming out with a new album too supposedly.

Yeah. Everyone seems to think that Doolittle was the best
thing they did, but I reckon they never topped their debut
album, Surfer Rosa.

Oh yeah! Now your talking!
If the pixies had not been years ahead of their time they'd
have been huge.
Surfer rosa is definately the best overall album experience,
really raw and the drums on it are fantastic. Steve Albini
(producer) used to cellotape loads and loads of microphones
all over the walls and ceiling of the studio to get that
special sound of his.

Guys, give props to nada surf for redoing the pixies song on
fight club.

Im serious, nada surf is a band you guys need to check out,
my favorite band by far.

aghh... Nada Surf? Are you serious? I can't tell (sarcasm
show up so poorly in short text).

Only thing I've heard from the Pixies is ''Where is My
Mind'', and it's pretty good. Laziness and lack of time has
prevented me from delving deeper into their stuff. No time
for guitar rock lately for me... too much IDM (cringe)...

Where is my mind was redone by nada surf,,,,and no im not
being sarcastic, nada surf is the best, Honestly!!!

Check out their newest album The Proximity Effect, its
really great. They are a very original band with some
really nice lyrics that youll learn to love.

Jesus christ, I think I remember Nada Surf... did they do
some song with a video that had football players and a
cheerleader in it? And the song mentioned that the guy's mom
thought he was cool or something? From '96 or something.

Or am I a crazy fuck with no long term memory...

how young are you kidz?
i saw Frank Black a few years ago
i guess it was like 4 years ago
when Nirvana first heard 'Smells Like Teen stupid' played
back in the studio they said to themselves it soundz like a
pixies rip-off
and I luv Jimmy Pop's reference to 'monkey gone to heavan'
in 'fire water burn'

i'm not black like barry white, no i'm white like frank
black is
so if the man is five, the devil is six
that must make me seven
this honkeys gone to heavan

except back in the day o'da pixies he was Black Francis or
whatever
and the rest of um
yeah...

the Breeders' 'Last Splash' is definitely one ub my most
favoritist rock albums ever!!

The song was called popular and it is on the other great
nada surf cd called high/low. Next time your at a used cd
store you can surely find that for cheap cheap cheap!!!

Like a lot of people I first heard The Pixies from Where is
My Mind from Fight Club, love that song but havent heard
anything else. Listened to some samples on CD Now but I
didn't take to it much...

I remember Nada Surf :) I've got Popular on some
compilation, I kinda like it!

punk and other tasty shit

them.

i liked the popular video
thatz as far as it went for me

pixies also had a song on the 'Pump Up the Volume'
soundtrack
i think it was a slower version of Wave of Mutilation than
was on their album
but that was a big break for them back in the day
you know
when they were stilla band

yeah
and Frank Black went totally solo
the first two albums are worth checking out
it goes to shit after that
