their recent album "Everything All the Time" is on constant
rotation in my player. I just can't get enough of it right
now. This album just seems too short to me. I really love
the first half of the album, especially "Wicked Gil" which
has some great changes. The second half is hinting at
alt-country/indy rock which is nice but kind of a let down
after such a strong album begining. But, I do expect great
things from this band in the future.

As I listen, Band of Horses reminds me of many of my
favorite bands. There's definitely a Flaming Lips vocal
thing going on. maybe a bit of Interpol riffs, with some
Pixies-esk bass lines and vocal stylings here and there.
I'm reminded of Built to Spill guitar and vocal melodies.
But the songs are rich, new, and have great vocal melodies
lyrics. Yes I'm really loving this album.

Man, if you want to trip on vocal similarities, you should
listen to My Morning Jacket. This is a clone of that.
However, "Everything All the Time" BLOWS away MMJ's 4th and
latest album... Still both great bands though.

there are some live recordings on their site.

this is their radio cut funeral but much more chilled
out than the album version. very nice though.

this is a really really slowed down version of my favorite
track wicked gil

NOTE
these are not the album versions. the versions on the album
are much much more heavy and energetic. especially wicked
gil which is quite frantic, lots of changes and such. I'd
recommend downloading the originals on slsk or something as
a good example of their range. only if you are interested
of course...
