Weird stuff happening!

OK.. We were assigned to do a couple of graffiti pieces for
a (dull) record company on this (dull) festival in our home
town. During an official after party at a hotel i went to
the bathroom to take a piss. When i came back some guard was
grabbing my mate by the nuts dragging him out (he had
apparently offended one of the female executives of the
record label in question). Me and another mate followed him
and the guards holding him out in the lobby where they
proceeded to (apparently unprovoced) nail him to the floor
by the knees. This friend tried to stop them by word and by
force, to which they answered agressively. Then they dragged
him into a room where we could´nt see what they were doing
to him. We waited, and people who witnessed the incident
talked to us saying this was "totally fucked up". A couple
of minutes later they took him out of the room. By now there
was blood running down his face. There was'nt when he got in
there. Police had now showed up. They handcuffed him and
dragged him into a van. This friend of mine left a statement
and was then told he was suspected of "assisting fleeing"
because he tried to stop the guard of beating this guy up. I
then gave the cops my contact/personal details telling them
i´d like to follow this up.

I have never seen guards behaving this violently (they were
three on one guy, and he could´nt have resisted in any
way)
and i know i have no chance in following up this case.
But does anyone have experience of this stuff, and what
should i say?

*heavily drunk*

nobody had a video phone or anything? it will be hard to
prove anything happened unless you can get a lot of
witnesses to make statements.

yeah, thats the problem.
i kept asking people for video phones during the beating but
nobody had one, and the nonpartial witnesses left the scene
long before we went into legal action. its shit.

Hhahahahah *mumble* youtube thread.. *burp*.. class
No, the thing is, they were a whole bunch of really
aggressive security guards (and one chef). anyone who tried
to interfere got thrown out or held down. there was nothing
we could do, thats why i thought i´d do something more
reasonable and constructive and get someone to record it.

Where are you from?

From my understanding of things out here, is that the only
witnesses of the violence were the three guards and your
friend. Probly the best thing that could have happened, was
if you had called the police, and then it would have been in
the system that they were holding your friend. If they
didn't charter or warn him, then they could be held
accountable for doing a citizens arrest wrong. If nobody
else observed them doing this before they took him into the
room, they could actually get in a lot of trouble. If its
proven that they arrested your friend, he could press
charges on them and then could sue the company for what
happened.

You are legally allowed one consequence free warning if you
do a citizens arrest wrong for the first time. One time I
saw this guy J-walking, and I threw him to the ground and
gouged out his left eye with a spoon in an attempt to do a
citizens arrest. A cop came up, and yada yada, turns out I
had no idea of the proper procedures involved. We had a nice
chuckle about it; all 3 of us, the j walker and I arm in
arm. Then the cop handed me a FORK (only in retrospect does
this seem obviously more proper) and I continued gouging his
eyes in full compliance.
