On fundamentalist Islam.

and Bush and the Christian right. (the first couple of minutes)

I like the way he doesn't take sides.

His best is London Fields, it's a really long haul, a grind.
But his humour keeps you going.

London Fields is actual purebred genius and i'm not one for
throwing around such weighty words. It's like dogshit and
diamonds in the same sentence, amazing stuff.

I'm not sure what to do with this though, i mean he's not
exactly saying anything new?

Yeah, but he said all this stuff about ten minutes after
9/11 and everybody alse has been catching up to the same
conclusions.

How do you know the dates of the videos? I'd guess 02/03 for
the second one bearing in mind the saddam reference. And
what does he say in the first one? That radical islamism is
seriously pissed with the west and can't be bought off? And
that it'll "burn itself out" because it's "like, too hatey
and stuff"? Wow, that's some incisive analysis right there.

I like the guy and i like his writing, but treating
everything he comes out with like it's the fucking ten
commandments is just silly.

True, true....
But I think he has a certain amount of insight. He's a
little arrogant perhaps, but letting Islamic fundamentalism
run it's course seems to be a better option than fucking
with it like a kid poking a twig into a wasp's nest.
