do u know any artists playing the type of jazz u can hear
on miles davis' "on the corner" or beans' and william
parker's album "only" or on the album antipop consortium did
with matthew sipp?

maybe stuff from 70s that had been labelled experimental
then? with fat beats and rather minimalistic and not too
melodious.

i guess there must be a lot of this stuff, but my knowledge
of jazz isn't too deep. naming artists (expect those already
mentioned) would be helpful to me.

Yeah, their webmaster, Phobiaone, says v2 is coming out
soon.

Ummmm....seriously, Dizzy Gillespie, might be a good listen
for you welt.

Hmmmm, less funky but more rythmic and released a decade
earlier than on the corner you have Art Blakey's
afro-rythgasm albums "Orgy in Rythm vol. 1 & 2" reissued on
blue note on a single cd in the late 90's. It's still in
stock as far as I know...

A few years earlier - in 1958 - Blakey recorded two similar
but more conventional jazz albums titled "Holiday for Skins
vol. 1 & 2" and that was reissued on blue note just a few
months ago...

Hmmm, and yes, Joe McPhee has a really wicked powerfusion
album called Nation Time. I've seen the cover used as an
avatar here on xltronic sometime. Defenitely worth checking
out!

A bit beside your request but still a mindblowing jazz album
you have Ornette Coleman's Free Jazz: A collective
improvisation by the Ornette Coleman double quartet. I
listened to this again yesterday and it is the closest thing
to punk I've ever heard in jazz and that was recorded in
1960. You must hear it!

check out Tzadik. This is John Zorn's label.

Generally, check out anything Zorn. Especially Painkiller.
You might love their ambient stuff.

I haven't heard the Beans/APC stuff but am familair with
Miles's 'On The Corner' jazz/rock fusion. Have you checked
out the Tribute to Jack Johnson album?
