i hate it when people use script or blackletter fonts in all caps... it looks like crap. there are some great script and blackletter fonts and it's insulting to misuse them like that. i don't like Times nor Helvetica... though i like Arial. a lot of fantasy fonts also don't work very well because they're trying to be too "irregular"... whereas every "e" will look the same, every "r" will look the same etc, ruining the intended irregular effect. if you want such an effect, better draw the letters yourself. ...and then there are the ones that just look plain awful. |

If I'm doing it for a poster or something I'll often layer the font a few times over off center giving it a blurred look and then give it texture with color. and whatever else seems like half a good idea. I HATE digital looking fonts as well as bleeding fonts, graffiti fonts, and flaming fonts. Oh and comic sands is dumb. My fav. font for like titles and shit: FutraBlackBT the M's are what sold me on it. |
