Seed Records Remix Competition

morning

we're having a little remix competition, where the two best
submitted tracks get released as part of the Seed 700 series
later this year - its a nine part release, nine 7"s each
coming with a matching cd of remixes/live recordings, the
whole series fits in a bespoke binder (high quality - not
just a modified ring binder like certain other releases,
where everything falls out if you turn it upside down...)

The remix is for Libby Floyd aka The Doubtful Guest, number
717. For more info and the 303 lines from 'electrobotz'
check here

You can hear the full tracks on Libby's myspace page

Later on in the series are 7"s from Ardisson, B12, Cursor
Miner, Milanese, Snapmouth, and more...

she's really cute and this music is really great.

the only thing is i can't decide which is more outrageously
crass and exploitative - analord or seedalord.

$$$$$$$$ACID$$$$$$$$$

The 7" will be sold separately? Like analord style? What
will the binder cost?

i'm doing an "aphex twins" and not listening to the original

the binder comes with the first 7" & CD

as for being 'crass and exploitative' we're actually trying
to figure out a way so that we dont lose money like we did
on the 5x5 series...we're hardly a profit making label, its
a labour of love from start to finish.

well thats the problem really isnt it. we want to the
quality to stay high, to release records that people will
truly love, and at the same time not lose money,
unfortunately sales for small independent electronic music
labels are at an all-time low (largely due to the double
edged sword of filesharing)

anyways, we're not going to scrimp on quality, nothing worse
than buying an expensive folder for a set of vinyls only to
find its a modified ring binder that falls apart in ten
minutes...

Mr Seed does have a point though, that overpriced ring
binder was gash quality, and inappropriate to store the
records. Which is its sole function, apart from "going for
not as much as you'd hoped for" on eBay.

I thought its sole function was to get sold to a large group
of over-eager fanbois.

i can see your point... but there's still a difference
between putting out records because you love the music and
putting out records with a holographic die cut triple
gatefold cover as part of a ten-copies-belgium-only series.
the music's good - let it speak for itself. gimmicks are
stupid.

yo Seed is there a style of entry you prefer to receive,
like straight up acid, housey electro-ish stuff? Or is this
completely open, and can I start on my breakcore rendition.
Hate to work on something , if beforehand chance of winning
is zero. Not that I'll ever win anything tho :)

Seed Records are great, and let us not overlook the fact
that there's new B12 material, which could be packaged in an
enormous turd sprayed gold, peppered with tracks by
8,000,000 lesser artists and it wouldn't detract from the
music.

Doing a binder in the shitty Panini style of marketing is
pretty shoddy to say the least, but repeating it after
whats his name has done it is soo un original.

Can't you think of some other way to make the cash flow so
you make even? You need to speak to Tom and sort out some
download things very soon.
