there are lots of scenes in animes that i can see was "meant
to be funny". sweat drops and things like that. im sure
there are japanese in the board who could please explain me
the jokes.

the sweat drop is just a sign of someone becoming
nervous...

good anime humour is the best! check out cromartie high,
excel saga and flcl/furi kuri!

i like the good old-style manga gore, like in GANTZ, or in
the works of Takahashi (Alive, Skyhigh), or Jiro Matsumoto
(Freesia), or in the MPD-Psycho series.

I think I have an episode of gantz, but I never got around
to actually seeing it.. I scanned quickly through to check
if I should burn it or not, and I think I ended up burning
it, but I needed to finish watching some other shows first..
I've started lots and lots of shows, but only finished like
five or so...

I don't know much about the anime but the first few volumes
of gantz manga are great, after that the plot starts to be
very predictable, and it just gets more bloody. lots of guts
and huge boobs, the authors must be seriously obsessed with
them. (and with tight super-mega-power suits)

hahah sounds a bit like elfen lied (one of the shows I
finished).. it's a bit ecchi, but there's so much blood and
gore everywhere so it just doesn't matter...

yeah, cromartie is awesome! nonsense all around!

some people recommend reading the manga, but I didn't and I
still laughed my ass off.. the only relevant information I
found on a website that is just in the manga is that freddy
mercury managed to get into that school without knowing any
japanese which says something about the quality of the
school.

I saw few episodes of elfen lied, gantz is more "grown up",
and serious.

they have some very good scanlations of first 7
episodes of gantz. the site is down atm though. be sure to
check it someday; much more dark and angsty stuff there,
good quality mostly (Leviathan for example).

for some reason I finished both seasons.. I believe it could
be because I found the way they solved both fuel and ammo
problems by having the tank become possessed by a kitten
ghost a tad fascinating.
