So, who's the favourite now all the big names have been thrown out for blood doping?
I'm hoping the Aussie Cadel Evans does well...... an all round cyclist who finished 8th, I think, last year....
On the drugs front, I used to party with a crew that included some professional cyclists who raced in Europe, and they were fiends. Not surprising at all that the big names have been caught.
And can someone with a TV tell me if the Prolog has started? The Tour website isn't saying that it has.

....it looks like you were right......
... and what does this say about Lance, if he was so much better than all the cheaters that now have been caught?

i'm 99% sure lance was on dope too (any kind of cheating) i saw was many reports on tv about it (he WAS on dope in 1999, its been known last year) but as he was under contract if it is known that he cheated, some of his sponsors (insurrance) might send him to court to get their money back, so he will never tell the truth.

i dont want to be nasty but lots of people were suprised by his "balls cancer", coz he was very young when it happened & silly rumours were already known ; i dont remember the detail but i'm affraid lance is not really clean if you know what i mean..

this is just silly..armstrong was never questioned while he was still active, and look now..both best riders are already out. i really wanted ulrich to win this one..and basso is ace too..this is just crazy..

no, i think there were strong doubts about armstrong but yeah i'm pretty disapointed 'coz ulrich was waiting for this 'no armstrong tour' for years. he must be devastated but i've heard about "2 speed Tour" for years (the ones who takes dope - & wins - & the other who could not compete..)

btw: What is doping and what isn't...? as it's a very blurry edge.

it really is a fine line, for example if you fall and hurt yourself using the wrong ointment can be considerd doping. being on dope or not winning the tour 6 times is quite an achivement.

Anyhow, Stuart O'Grady 6th, Michael Rogers 7th, Cadel Evans 14th......
and Thor Hushovd in the Yellow Jersey.

i think the tour will be more exciting then ever. it's an open race again. there probably isn't going to be a dominant winner in this tour. it's good to have been rid of all the ubermen.

its fucking stupid that basso, ullrich and other riders are thrown out of the tour because there arent any really good proofs that there are guilty its like guantanama bay where people dont get a trial either. their are just on a stupid list it dousnt mean they have used doping. it were just decisions by stupid right wing people controlled by money and the media. i hope they get a high lostmoney
sorry for the bad english

no, even if the press do not reveal much, they know what they do by throwing them out. i still feel sorry for ulrich
if there are innocents, they will go to court & will defend themselves (a thing armstrong never did while facing accusations in the media) but i doubt they will.

they were thrown out by their own teams, not the tour management.... to me that suggests that the teams know they are guilty...... otherwise you would fight tooth and nail to keep your gun (and clean) rider in the event....
anyway, bit of a non-stage yesterday, no real moves made
