It's always the same 5 people that respond in the
dubsteb/grime threads

Anyone heard the newish Skream 12"? Dutch Flowers is really
good. Best played loud.

Dirty Priest has my #.

I feel compelled to mention:
Hawerchuk- Four Messengers (good production)
Boxcutter- Grub & Brood (both are good tracks)
Milanese & Virus Syndicate- Dead Man Walking (good grime
track)
Vex'd- Angels, Canyon, Venus, Fire. (Vex'd makes more
sci-fi sounding dubstep)

I also mention the same few artists when responding to a
dubstep thread.

You're both quite right, it's almost always 140bpm (or
slightly under) especially in Dubstep - probably because
it's the default fruityloops tempo ;).

Grime does sometimes go a bit slower, but usually ceases to
be half step (so it actually sounds faster than 140bpm
halfstep). I'm sure some of the very quick sounding grime
tracks (often with crunk style machine gun snares, rather
than on the 5th and 13th) I've heard on channel U are 88bpm,
but I concede that it is usually 134-140.

Belb: Where has the asbo site gone? I loved that track,
can't wait for the release.

I'd like to add the following to Babou's list:

Boxcutter - Tauhid
Kromestar - Surgery
Pinch - Qawwali
Various Productions - Hater (this group is a weird trip
hop/folk/grime hybrid)
Blackdown - Crackle Dub (Burial Remix)

Ezkerraldean: I didn't "get" Burial first either. There's
very little music I go from liking to disliking or visa
versa. With burial, I heard the album, though "meh" and
couldn't see what the fuss was about. I stumbled across Nite
Train and really liked it and bought the South London
Boroughs EP, just for nite train. I then (because I actually
had a copy) gave the other tracks a few more listens and
they've grown on me loads. I then bought the album and have
found I now really like that too and can't wait for the next
release (hopefully Unite) to be finished. Worth giving a
second listen to it.
