well you're supposed to heat it up, try putting the bottle in a soup dish full of water on the stove
i mean i don't like it either way, it sort of reminds me of tea made from tequilla but thats supposed to be better i guess

theres loads of different kinds of sake, some are meant to be drunk warm and others meant to be drunk cold.
also depends on time of year, in winter people tend to drink hot, and drink it cold in summer.
when i left japan someone gave me this awesome sake jug that allows you to cool the stuff with ice without diluting the sake. its amazing.
Taffmonster, where are you going to live?

yes geos much better than Nova. Nova are total blood suckers. I was on JET, i went during the heydey when we all still got flown out business class and put up in Tokyo Hilton for a few days for "orientation". I heard JET isn't what it used to be and seems to get most of its ALTs as local hires these days.. which is a shame.
The Geos lot used to get furious with the JETS - we used to work about two hours a day, go off on six week paid holidays to SE Asia, and got paid more than them.. sadly i think those glory days are over.

ahhh the whole business has gone the smae way. There are so many people who want to do it so they started dropping pay and percs! I will be earning ¥250,000 a month and i think i get 10 days paid holiday (although sick days are taken form holiday days) and then i get the national vacations (golden week etc).
It's not amazing btu its a job and its the easiest way to get an apartment and visa sorted! I'm looking forward to it but also terrified about it!

no need to be terrified, its a really easy place to live and you will have a great time.
Once you have found your way around and made some contacts i would start looking for a better job though - GEOS is fine, but you can probably get better deal with Berlitz or independent language school. All depends where you end up living though.

yeah its kinda my plan, I'll stick it out with GEOS as long as possible and then look around for ALT jobs. Might give me a chance to go see some of the places i really wanna see like Miyazu (the floating bridge of heaven) and Sapporo ice festival oh and i really wanna see those buddha carvings cant remeber where they are though somewhere along the back spine to the north hehe!
