Did you ever do any dance tracks with that equipment? All I
remember was ambient.

He sold everything at a loss before he made anything.

no i didn't do any "dance" tracks

my ambient music wasn't exactly stellar, and i don't have
the skills to do music anyways.

but yeah, all i did with it was ambient sounding stuff. i
was pleased with the few results i had though

you sold it all at a small profit before making anything.

i shall state this though

selling that stuff was in some ways the worst thing i've
ever done in my entire life, and in some ways the best thing
i've ever done

but i shalln't elaborate on that

The 303 seems like an odd choice for ambient/soundtrack.

i never got round to getting a MIDI Clock -> DIN SYNC
converter, so i could never get my 303 to integrate with my
setup (which was completely MIDI)

there's a couple of live improv sessions i did with a mate
where he was on his bass guitar / hammond organ / mini korg
700 and i was on my 808 / 909 / 303 / 606 just using DIN
SYNC, but that's pretty much the extent i got to using the
303 in any tracks :(

You could start making mobile ringtones using only the 303.
Maybe start a webpage with a cool name like.. eh
kidrobot.com or something if that isn't taken and sell the
ringtones for like $2.50 a pop.

have you broken off a switch or button yet then? or bust the
sync port?

707 puts out midi and sync at same time if it is the master
clock

diamondtron

no, i never broke anything on any of the gear i had.

and i know the 707 outputs both MIDI Clock and DIN SYNC
simultaneously if it's used as the master clock source. but
i didn't have a 707 and even if i did, using it as the
master would completely negate the point of using an Atari
for sequencing

i bust da sync port
know you oughta
now,

yep atari is one of the most stable clocks going
best era for sequencers too imo
707 is good timing too tho it must be said, and sends out
midi notes too so you can sequence with it
just an alternative, not meaning to negate anything

i know :) your suggestion was sound

and given the chance, i would've had a 707.

but alas, it wasn't meant to be
