Except the juvenile purchases, propably Rinôçérôse -
Installation Sonore. Not directly bad, but terribly boring
album.

hey, what's with the the future sound of london bashing?

i almost bought a limp bizkit album when i was still
in high school (glad i didn't do it - i had it in mp3
though), and got offered an album by the offspring back then
too. i don't claim to have any particular taste in music at
all now (if i look at my collection i can't see any
"coherence" whatsoever - apart from the fact that i like,
love or at least have liked almost everything in there), but
i'm still a bit ashamed of having liked that back then.

now among the albums i did actually buy... maybe higgins
ultra glue funk hits 1972-2006 (or whatever it was called)
by venetian snares. i ended up using its jewel case for
another album whose jewel case was broken (and with white
glued sticker residue i couldn't be arsed to remove), then
gave it away for free (even paying the shipping) to someone
who was interested. among the albums i still have but could
sell or give away, i have loud like nature by add n to (x),
synkronized by jamiroquai, faking the books by lali puna
(though maybe i could end up liking this one someday), ep7
by autechre, geogaddi by boards of canada... i almost bought
pop by u2 too. i'd still keep by marilyn manson, nine inch
nails and oasis albums though.

Pop might be my favorite U2 album. But it might not be.

I have that Hootie and the Blowfish album that was really
popular back in the day. Cracked Rearview Mirror, I think.

Worst album was The Division Bell, by Pink Floyd.
But the worst ever release I ever bought (of any
format, excepting things bought as gifts for other people -
like the Vengaboys for my brother) was "Loving You More" ep,
by BT. What utter utter shit.

I'm not bashing FSOL. Just that horrid album The Isness. I
was a huge fan of virtually everything they had released
prior to that. ISDN is still one of my all time favorites.
but I have never felt so ripped off, so angry about an album
purchase as i did on the day i bought that piece of shit.
Awful. Just tacky, cheesy, annoying, sitar bullshit. Had it
been a Ween release or something, it might have been funny.
But it wasn't.

I would say that Tim Hecker's "Mirages" fits the bill, for
me...Though there are plenty of albums I bought when I was
younger and just discovering music that shame me too...The
kind of albums you buy because you hear the single on the
radio, and it turns out that the single is the only decent
song on it....

I've got several DJ Krush album that are not very good,
some Outkast ones that are boring, the last TTC is very
bad except a super great song.
I don't like radiohead - ok computer and don't like
MBV - loveless anymore, but all these albums are not
that bad.
I think the worse album i've ever bought must be
Ez3kiel - "B4rbary", some french dub that is really
boring. I enjoyed it when i bought it though... =|
I've also bought several absolutely boring and
useless 12", that were only good for me to train DJing...

I could list the whole eurodance catalogue that I was into
back in the day... It's all quite tortuous to the soul in
retrospect.

More recent purchases... well, I can sort of understand the
isness-bashing here (though not the accelerator-bashing!),
since the whole Amorphous Androgynous sub-vibe of the FSOL
gang is testing to one's preconceptions. I'd say their Mello
Hippo Disco Show EP is one of the most disappointing pieces
of music I've ever purchases. Might be good on psilocybin -
otherwise it's very annoying. There's one good techno remix
in there, if I remember correctly. I have a
love/hate-relationship to that side of FSOL/A.A. The Isness
was alright, I thought. Elysian Feels is a top track.

DJ Shadow's Endtroducing was a downer, but not exactly
"bad". I can grant it the place it has in people's minds.

Atli: i find dubnobasswithmyheadman really great...

Combo: heh... i really got into Outkast lately, took me some
time to get into Stankonia but i find it great now; i just
got ATLiens, which is not as original and varied but in a
different style, i like it too... i love Radiohead (apart
from Pablo Honey). Loveless is overrated in my opinion, i
find it good but not as hyper-awesome as most people find
it. i almost bought that Ezekiel album some time ago.
