inventor of afrobeat (meant to be the most powerful music
ever) 77 albums, 27 wives, over 200 court appearances, died
at 58 years of aids. 3 milion people on his funeral.

wow - what a man. i just listened to a few albums - rofo
rofo is my favourite right now. i'm curious if i'll feel the
same power in his 76 next albums :D

i really recommend everyone to listen to just a few releases
of him - really a milestone in music.

partial discography

you know, im pretty sure 95% people here know about kuti and
his fantastic music. im pretty sure he's together with miles
davis and jimi hendrix the best known black musician.

but yeah, if there's someone that doesn't know him, they
should check his music out because it's just brilliant. most
of it.

i have expensive shit. it's excellent, not something i'd
listen to a lot but great to blast now and again when i feel
like i want to pretend me and my cat are at a carnival.

Apperently he was an influence on James Brown and Herbie
Hancock. I've heard bits and pieces, but I could do with
some recommendations.

i rock ZOMBIE on the turntables at parties
and then the fucking zombies dance

Zombie is the big hit
but it is all good
i love Fela

here in Ann Arbor, mi we got this band called Nomo that
pretends to play afrobeat and it kind of makes me sick --
damn rich white kids don't sound like a beautiful,
prophetic, oppressed South African
