Help me with a word!

Hey all,

If you could help me with this it'd be greatly appreciated.
I'm looking for a synonym (ie.a similar word) to
trademark, not as in the corporate/business sense,
but in an artistic sense.

Like, putting his own face on children is RDJ's [trademark]?
I tried microsoft word's thesaurus already but it didn't
help.

Well, to be specific I'm writing an essay for uni on
'Koyaanisqatsi' [film]. And I'm trying to find a word to
describe the promotional, famous shot of the moon moving
behind the building (its on the DVD cover).

Can anyone think of what I mean?

Thanks in advance :)

'signatory' means being signed by a formal party of some
kind.

Trait is wholly incorrect in this instance.

i like signature.

"the signature shot"

or difinitive

"the difinitive image"

trait?

"the trait of koyaanisquatsi's promo clip that distinguishes
it from other films is the signature image of the moon
moving behind some buildings or some shit."

yeah i guess trait can work too.
