sanseband: It sounds a bit like what would result if Fifth
Hour Hero's indie/punk sound leaned more consistently to the
indie side of things, while traveling in a weary van full of
Wilco, Ryan Adams, and Jets to Brazil tapes. It is
bittersweet and uplifting, comforting and rough-edged. The
layering of three vocalists gives the songs an added depth
that is highlighted by the engaging male/female interplay
between lead singer/guitarist and bassist . The slight grit
of his delivery coupled with his soaring soprano makes some
this song feel like a conversation -- or an argument between
the two.

mouthcid : This is the kind of song devoted to one's roots:
The music is devoid of any pretense, and a humble sincerity
shines through on every note. It sounds a bit like what
would result if Fifth Hour Hero's indie/punk sound leaned
more consistently to the indie side of things, while
traveling in a weary van full of Wilco, Ryan Adams, and Jets
to Brazil tapes.

Really good stuff.

I particularly like the formanant quality to the
didgeridoo-sounding thing.

Mouthcid - Quirky and likeable. I'm dancing in my seat.

Sanseband - A silly track. Made me think of ballons flying
up to the heavens as the clown once holding them fell over
from a heart attack.

hahaha! thanks! mouthacid wouldn't be what it is today
without the amazing Impakt, lord of acid (and riverdance).

sanseband is just something I made for silliness' sake.. I
don't know how familiar the concept of danseband is outside
of scandinavia.. it's basically men in similar "suits"
singing about what happens at caravan parks at caravan parks
and the music is equally cheesy. the main point is that the
inhabitants of said caravan parks are going to get busy.

Getting this. Did you watch napoleon dynamite? You really
should. Obara also made the pedro connection.

Seriously, did you use the Tapeworm plugin in mouthcid?

offline DirtyPriest from Copenhagen (Denmark) on 2006-06-04 02:57 [#01912838]

Digging this stuff.

Sanseband: Very funny!! The synths make me laugh.

Mouthcid: I've only just realised, but your music would be
excellent for an independent type movie. The sounds you use
are so good. I really like that. You have a way with your
music that makes it sound very organic, and hand played,
wich is also good. The only that annoys me a bit is that
"Acid house" vocal. Good job!

ohhh! no, that's a didgeridoo used as an organ; I just
loaded the sample into kontakt and played it like it fit.
There's a normal resonant filter on it.
