... is fucking awesome. Just found out about it a few days
ago. Any recommendations beyond him and his other projects?
For those who know what I'm talking about, anyway.

Woven Hand is just the beginning if you're interesting in
exploring similar music. You can trace most of it back to a
band from Denver Colorado called The Denver Gentlemen which
was comprised of three individuals: David Eugene Edwards
(Woven Hand), Jeffery-Paul Norlander, and Slim Cessna.
Edwards went on to form 16 Horsepower before he did Woven
Hand. 16 Horsepower is more song based than Woven Hand seems
to be, with the earlier stuff having a more prominent punk
influence than the later stuff. It all has has really dark
religious overtones, as most of the other similar music from
Denver seems to. I'd recommend all the 16 Horsepower albums,
if you haven't heard them already.

Slim Cessna formed a band called Slim Cessna's Auto Club,
that at first did sort of straight forward country and
western, but then started to get really weird and really
good when a guy named Munly Munly joined the band. I really
really recommend their latest album The Blovdy Tenent
Truth Peace
. The variety of instruments as well as the
depth of song writing is really impressive. Definitely one
of my favourite albums ever.

Munly has also released several albums, some of which are
really hard to find right now, but are going to be
rereleased in the near future. They are similar to the
lastest Auto Club records but even darker. I recommend all
of those.

Finally Jeffery-Paul, did various things (even working with
16 Horsepower on Low Estate), but stayed with The Denver
Gentlemen and released an album with a new lineup. That
album was called Introducing... and you can download
it right here because it's out of print. It's a
good bit different than Woven Hand, but if I had to pick my
favourite album, this would be it. There's also a newish
album, which is very good.

Other somewhat related bands: Devotchka, Reverend Glasseye,
Lillium, Painted Saints, and a lot of others I'm probably
forgetting.

slightly into 16 horsepower, but not that much yet. i didn't
really think anyone would respond, so this comes very well
in hand!

You're welcome. It's just that this string of music has made
up the majority of what I've listened to for the past 4
years or so. Probably so much because it was a refreshing
contrast with the other music that I also listened to -
cleansing the pallet or something.

Holy fucking christ, 16 Horsepower is awesome. Reverend
Glasseye & His Wooden Legs as well... I'd really like to get
ahold of some Lilium, but no luck...
