Me and my bro are going for Andrew Hill tomorrow! It's like someone else could go see Elvis! I'm a bit confused about the day-pass only policy, though... I hope it's not too crowded. Eller ka syns du? :D |

it was awesome! esbjørn svensson was great and so was what I saw of hill. that big band was so-so.. I preferred opsvik. it sucked a bit that I got such a bad back-ache after a while so I couldn't stand up and had to go out to sit while hill was playing, but.. yeah, it was a good night! I may or may not have seen you.. if you wore a blue sweater/jacket thingie, you need to pay more attention 'cause I said "rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrripsbær!" while standing right next to you (or some other stranger) in the hall. if you didn't, there was only one other man with a ponytail (you have one, right?) and I only saw him (/possibly you) for a split second when he rushed out of the room at opsvik. |

I didn't see you, man. But I enjoyed Andrew Hill, even if the sound was a bit cramped in Sardinen. I ran over to the door when Hill was done so I got to thank him and shake his hand and all. A great moment for me. :D |

awesome! I tried calling out to Esbjørn to make him play that one song from seven days of falling with the piano looping thing, but they were done playing.. haha, this really drunk guy was standing right in front of us and whenever the song wasn't in 4/4, he'd just resort to shaking uncontrollably.. it was especially fun with the one with syncoped beat (4+4+6+7/4 I think, but I was a bit drunk) where he could keep up for the first two or so bars of each figure, but then suddenly just lost it... I wish statoil didn't get tickets for their worthless executives. I really wish they'd put esbjørn and hill so that they didn't overlap, though... I only caught the end of it, but it sounded great! |
