The sound of your life right now

offline mortsto-x from Trondheim/Bodø (Norway) on 2006-05-21 16:36 [#01904186]

The last moths I've been all into melancholic
electronical-based music with piano, organs and other "real"
instruments. Like "folk-tronica" (OMFG), but not really.
Clickits, The Boats, Deaf Center, Porn Sword Tobacco, The
Remote Viewer and Tape. Just ordered Gavouna, Praveen and
Donato Warthon from Boomkat. I don't know what's happening
to me. I don't even miss the beats! Maybe I'm becoming an
old jazz-man or something. Better get full beard and a pipe.
Even though many of these albums are kinda sad-sounding they
work were well on my iPod on a sunny day.

So, what do YOU listen to these days? Discovering anything
new?

At the minute it seems to be Will Oldham, Venetian Snares,
Florian Hecker and Tindersticks. So the same old shower.

Out of those I still love Lionel Richie, Billy Ocean,
Desireless, the new Black Dog, a dash of eurodance and that
Burial "South London Boroughs" single. So I'm a sub-Vlari,
in more ways than one.

i was hoping this was a "make the sound of your life right
now" which would be substantially more interesting, but i
guess i'll try...

i'll say...

right now i'm listening to another Free bootleg, got into
led zep again recently, today the little cousin (she's six)
was step-dancing to Laughable Butane Bob, been getting way
into dubstep, some random shit expanding my tastes, etc...

Diva soul sistah!!!
And a very good one.

"Everytime he comes around I feel like Im on fire
When he looks into my eyes and sees down to my soul
Its so hard for me to tell if this is just desire
Or the love I need to make my spirit whole
How am I to know?"

I bought FSOL's "Accelerator" for about the third time in my
life, yesterday, everytime it comes out with different
tracks stuck on. Still a legend. I really like the different
version of Accelerator on there though, better than the
original I thought, and that's one of my ALL TIME FAVE
tracks. But yes, sorry, that's what I am listening to today
and yesterday. And probably tomorrow.

sorry tolstoyed... yeah, unabomber has pretty much described

I'd recommend getting Minnie's 'Les Fleur Anthology'. Some
beautiful tracks on it. 4hero remixed/did a new version of a
couple of tracks a while back. Really great album.

That is the one I've got, yerrrrrrrr, just getting into the
REMIXES of Papua New Guinea. Such a good album though, some
albums actually GET BETTER over the years, and this is
definitely one, and I've been listening to it since the week
it came out. I didn't realise FSOL themselves had done that
expansion album of P.N.G "Translations"; I saw that in the
shop too so I might get it as well. I love the FSOL (or
Fossil, as I say). I'd like to get my old "Cascade" 12"
back, wherever that is.
