So, I just bought my first guitar pedal, a Behringer OD100 Overdrive/ Distortion, for general sound-fuckery purposes. Cost me $35AUD which seems reasonable to me. I don't have a guitar, I'm just going to use it to mess with audio in my live set-up. Anyone else got a OD100?
What guitar pedals do you own? Which ones would you recommend? Which ones would you avoid?

Yes I do have that pedal, actually. It is pretty amazing for the price. I use it practically all the time with my guitar turned down to a subtle crunch.
I think these Behringer ones are excellent and I'd recommend them for sure. You should get a delay pedal if you haven't got one, they are superb if you want to experiment with messing up sound. I hear that Behringer are releasing one in the same range, so it will be stupidly cheap. I have a Digitech one which is good but it did cost a lot.

I use my Behringer rack-mounted effects unit for delay at the moment, but would like a delay pedal for sure. I've just started trawling pawn shops, so i'll wait untill I see something cheap.
I'm glad to hear you recommend the OD-100. I really didn't know what I was buying, quality-wise. I wasn't too worried though, just need to up the noise a bit :)

Yeah apparently the technology in the Behringer pedals is quite innovative, they've found a way to emulate the circuitry of expensive pedals, for a fraction of the cost. If I can remember right, they had to change around the colours of the range because they looked and sounded the exact same as the Boss pedals (which are about 3 times more expensive at least). So yeah they're pretty hot.

i've got:
- 2 ProCo Rat (one broken) - MXR Distortion+ - MXR Dynacomp - 2 Big Muff Pi (one green, one black, both russian) - Maestro Boomer 2 wah - Boss GE-7 EQ - Boss ODB-3 Bass OD - Boss PH-2 Super Phaser - Ibanez SF10 Swell Flanger - orange pedal my friend built - alesis metavox
i probably have a few more that i can't remember right now.
i had a DOD tube overdrive, but i took it apart and didn't bother putting it back together.
i modded my black big muff, adding a three-button controller to switch sound modes. i can't even really describe the sound of it, it's just crazy.

I haven't kept up with this shit in years, but I think analog is the best for this sort of thing.. especially for distortion/overdrive and pitch shifting effects. The most unique and warm sounding pitch shifter is definitely the original Wh-1 digitech whammy pedal, which was analog. but they go for ungodly prices now because of bitchasses like radiohead, etc..
