I'm sure you'd get better quality with a normal turntable and linking it straight into your computer through the audio channels. In fact, that's just as simple as plugging in a USB cable. |

all depends on the qualitly of the digital to analogue converters used, but i bet they're shit! Allways better going analogue from a turntable into a decent sound card IMO. |

if you want to rip vinyl proper... use a hi quality belt drive table going through a good preamp to a soundcard that is known for its A/D converters |

to avoid misconceptions, its not really 'directly going to digital' buying a proper sound card, turntable, amp like gerbik sez gives the best results methinks. |

i think it's a case of 'go to a shop, buy this, and then within seconds yourr vinyl is on yourr computerr', if it's cheap enough it's a good idea. |

Maybe I didn't look closely enough but it doesn't mention the sample and bit rates it rips at. Kinda sketchy since thats the most important factor next to the quality of the DAC. |

cant you do that anyway without wasting loads of money on some fancy crap? i just line-out record from my hifi (with turntable) to my mp3 player or my PC, the quality is always fine. |
