I have alot of beck CD's that i don't listen to all that
often. I just stuck mutations on and i am loving it. I tend
to really over look Beck but he's done some amazing songs
and is alot better than i used to give him credit for.

Can i hear a hallelujah!

hallelujah! hallelujah!

mutations is real great. Sea Change is great too for certain
moods.

i myself got more disappointed by each of his releases (more
or less), i loved (and still do) mellow gold, which in my
opinion was one of his most creative, it's crazy, beautiful
and very personal, none of the latter releases reach this,
they're all more elaborated but less inspired. mutation is
the worst beck album i heard (don't have anything more
recent than midnite vultures). imho indeed.

you might like guero (maybe) although i guess thats more
odelay vein.

my personal faves: sweet sunshine, soul sucking jerk,
whiskeyclone city hotel 1997 (or something like that man
this tracks is so full of sweat and heat and the
consequential laziness, incredible), nitemare hippy girl,
blackhole, beercan, plus some tracks off stereopathetic soul
manure i can't remember the title.

Yeah man, I really love that song. Beck sings with such
emotion in that one. In my opinion it's quite much in the
same vein as the tracks on sea change, but a little more
optimistic. Much like in many tracks on the Mutations.

i think all the albums are terrific, guero is the "weakest"
but only because there's a bit little going on at times, but
i'm not warmed up to it properly... midnite vultures is
fantastic, slick and lovely to listen to on the bus when
it's hot...

golden leftovers, one foot in the grave, fresh meat & old
slabs and mellow gold must be my faves...

i wasnt to excited about "Guero" but oddly enough i like
"Guerolito" the re-mix that came out a couple months after.

i started with Midnite Vultures... bad place to start. then
i got Odelay. now i have all of his main albums (most of
which are awesome, and even the weakest ones are good) and
he's one of my favourite artists.

genius.

I wish I could say I agree, because I like you Taff, but I
really, really, really hate Beck. haha. oh well.

I heard Sea Change was a nice 'change' though. would you
agree with that?

used to love beck. still like him.
wasnt too impressed with guero (boc remix was the best song
imo) but those new beck.com songs like untitled song 2 and
sorrow make me still interested in becks new stuff : )

everyone seems to be down on guero but i really like it,
there are some real stonkers on there. i suppose it does
drag though amidst the few gems.

i have a great mash up of the prodigy smack my bitch up and
becks sexx laws (called smaxx laws no less)
i'll link it up if anyone cares

Why? it just sounds like Travis or something. "Paper Tiger"
is the only halfway decent song.

overlooked: golden feelings, a western harvest moon
field by moonlight, don't get bent out of shape, one foot in
the grave, stereopathetic soul manure, fresh meat. stray
blues and the loser ep have some awesome songs on them as
well.

the only album of his i still have some trouble enjoying for
long listening periods is midnight vultures.

This album touches your soul, it is so sad and melancholic.
I would cry if I was a girl. Plus the production is very
good. My favorite song is LONESOME TEARS. Beautiful.
