i haven't listened to this as much as i have in the last month, and im liking every time more..and i loved it to begin with. simply as lovely as electronic music gets, so many tracks and almost each one carrying a different emotion..so imaginatively put together, composed, so tender, so lovely..i'd probably be tired of 99% of music i hear if i listened this much, but with analord, i just hear something new every time, and it's funny because most of it sounds quite simple if you give it a superficial listen..simply brilliant <3

The replay value is really impressive, I still put Analords on so much. Im just listening to the Luke Vibert Sonar set where he plays xmd5a with that really cool 'don't hold back' scratch sample over it.

I definitely appreciate them a lot more now, which is fair enough, I think, considering how much material came out in such a short space of time. It's good that there's things to discover over repeated listenings, nice to have an ever shifting list of favourites, some tracks being slower burners than others. I didn't understand it so much when it came out, why 11 singles, the costly binder... but now, I think I begin to see. It's an ambitious project on a grand scale, the world's greatest 11 disc album.

nicely put, as always. some tracks definitelly need more time..i know i was skipping some tracks before because they sounded a bit suspicious..not interesting maybe, but after giving them proper listen it's a different thing. often there's something subtle going on which i must have missed at first and now, well, it's just puts smile on my face because i feel like i'd be listening to these tracks for the first time.

analord 8 is a particularly spectacular release imo, and one that i listen to all the time still!

track per se is alright, nicely structured and all that, but it just seems like this is more of a track for people who don't intend to spend much time on aphex or analords..you get what you hear basically and it stops there.
sure, there's all sorts of stuff going on but it's just too predictable imo. on othe tracks for example you may only hear two or three tones but the way they overlay each other is something else.
ofcourse i respect your right to like it tho :)

Exactly, cause I am an aphex-connoisseur and I only like the tracks nobody else does; tracks like fenix funk 5, reunion, crying in your face, cilonen, klopjob, phonatacid, where's your girlfriend, bwoon dub, home made polysynth, steppingfilter 101 and the list just keeps going and going.

Exactly, but tolstoyed is saying the opposite. I have no problem with somebody not liking the track because it IS infact just their taste that decides.
But saying that Fenix Funk 5 is a shallow track that only has something to offer for "people who don't intend to spend much time on aphex or analords" is in fact just wrong.
It's a statement you make because you want to seem "smarter" and more "sophisticated" than the "people who don't intend to spend much time on aphex or analords". This is basic sociology.
And yes, I'm arguing because I'm bored.

oh right, sorry, my bad. i will force myself to like it now! when i said i listened to xmd5a on repeat for 100 times i forgot to mention i listened to fenix funk for maybe 5 times at that time. i wonder why, maybe because people not into aphex thought it was nice. (at that time appart from biggest fans no one even knew about it mind you).
and when you hear people who haven't got a clue about aphex go all mental on this track it makes you wonder..it makes me bitter even. there's so many awesome tracks on analords, but no, people who don't have a clue about aphex diss everything else and just take that fenix for a masterpiece. it could be for all i care but i still find it boring. sorry.

You've failed to read and understand what I've said. I'm not forcing you to like fenix funk 5, you can hate it as much as you'd like. What I AM saying however is that your biggest reason for not liking it is wrong.

I think I know what Tolst is trying to say, though forgive me if I'm wrong. But that perhaps Fenix is a more "immediate" song that pushes more of the readily recognised Aphex buttons, whereas a lot of the other tracks might be more subtle and, yes, require the love of a true Aphex, or indeed music, fan to really get into them.
