Serious hole in my pocket but couldn't resist a mint 303 I
found the other week!

Have a listen to a couple of tracks I did using it: -
me on myspace. It's the last two tracks that use it. The
first track is using a syntecno teebee (303 clone).

Cheers, I love makin nice pure acid with it's 606 brother!

Cost: -

£900. our lass went barmy!!! I'd spent nearly as much on
303 clones over the years though.

I can say this, if your thinking of buying a clone, don't do
it! Try to hold off and save up for the real deal.

Had a bassstation, fat freebass and syntecno teebee (sytecno
was the best 303 clone IMO and I've still got it).

how do you program it, the damn buttons or through midi (or
did you have to modify it for that, i forgot)?

onboard 16 step sequencer, the thing doesn't work with midi
originally, but with Dinsync. You can mod it though and give
it a midipod.

And
DAMNIT!
DAMNIT!
DAMNIT!
DAMNIT!
DAMNIT!
DAMNIT!
DAMNIT!
DAMNIIITT!!!
GRAAAAGHH!!!!

come to holland, hook it up to my 606 and 202 and let's have
a jam :)

It’s un-modified, I DIN sync it through the DrumStation
and use it's internal sequencer. It's tough to get to grips
with but once mastered it's a breeze. A lot of the cool
riffs are by accident!

Would love to! my mate brought his 202 round, they sould
wicked together. The 202 can get that really old school mr
fingers style bass!
The 202 sequencer looks tricky though.

you program the 202 basicly the same, but you can add more
gate triggers and lengths to the notes. It's either guessing
the notes and it's lengths, or knowing how to read notes.
Luckily i was gifted with being able to read notes :o

offline Fah from Netherlands, The on 2006-04-27 04:47 [#01887864]

oh, and also it has no internal memory function, so you
can't really save more than one bassline into one mc202 at
that time. And you need to externally save the bassline to a
tape (or to your laptop/pc, it's much more accurate this
way)

Screaming acid lead on the 303 and bass on the 202 = match
made in heaven.

damn well in vintage mode.

Is it really samples? I used to think it was (the drums
definitely are) but I'm sure the melody synths aren't sample
based any more.

you got ripped off. that thing is like, a really old
gadget. hell of old. there is much better technology these
days. you should have bought like, a new shiney beep beeper
instead of some crusty old dinosaur.

I don't agree. The newer intruments like the mc09 are just
waveform samples not true analogue. If you are going to get
an 303 emulator then just download rebirth.

I'm not too worried if it is based on samples anyway. I got
it for £80 with the adaptor (apparently that costs £20)
and I love it anyway. Good acid sequencer for live improvs.

A great buy. Looks like the prices are about the same as 10
years ago on the TB-303. The only other machine I've seen go
for that much is the TR-909, maybe the TR-808 now too.

Out of those classics, I've only got the MC-202, but I
compensate with an SH-5.

you should have bought a bass guitar as well.

whoa thats a wicked idea.

just image an tb-303 guitar pedal where when ever you press
down on the pedal it make the sound of the guitar into an
acid sound.

wicked

i think the mc-09 could be used to reinvent the Danseband

to what it wasnt intended to do
