i forgot how to make tracks

everything im putting down since my old laptop died is
sucky as hell.. im listening to some of it and laughing out
loud, cant be satisfied with this shit track sound at all.
and im using a lot of the same techniques and content that i
had on my last setup, im guessing its psychological and my
brain lapsed my music 'thought process' and i gotta catch up
w/ it or something, cauz all of my fucking shit is wack as
of late,

you ever do a track and then listen to it and then it sounds
like someone was trying to copy another track by you?

what i need is some phatass drum kits, can anyone hook me up
with a few libraries?

creativity comes and goes, it aint like a faucent.

im currently in one of those states as well, which prolly
also has to do with the fact that i just changed software so
half of what im doing right now is getting my feet wet.

my advice is to either a) change some part of your setup or
b) take a break off and listen to more music, give urself
ideas.

(ps i wouldnt mind some new phatass drum kits as well)

perhaps try using some new 'techniques'.

just take the time to learn something new or experiment
instead of focusing on producing finished pieces

i want to get some drum kits that are 80's era and tune them
down real low like, cut them up with some samples i have of
static and get them all crunchy and nasty sounding... but im
sitting down and working for hours on doing this WITH JUST
ONE LOOP and its like no matter what it gets worse and
worse, like my creativity's workin against me

id take a break but i have barely enough time to do tracks
as it is...

i think havin a controller can be distracting when i am
tryin to focus on creating one particular type of sound in a
loop... like just a 1-loop effect or progression, when i
have this thing with knobs next to me it fucks me up BAD

I agree with qrter, just stop. It's a sign, heed the
warning, you can't make no more beats, don't force it.

I see your point I see your point jah jah I see your point
jah

BUT

it would be nice, for a change, if someone recognised what
they were making is shit and then thought "you know what?
I'll refrain from making music, as it's shit".

just to shake things up a bit, you know.

I know it'll NEVER happen, but still. it's a nice thought
and that counts for something too, I think you'll agree.

like a nice cup of tea. that's just great, a nice cup of
tea. a nice cup of tea and then having that nice little
thought, "hmm, nice tea, I'm shit, I'll stop". grrreat.

so, what you're saying is, even you yourself think your own
tracks are shit and then you proceed to say that you can't
make those tracks (which are supposedly awfuls, even to you)
no more.

surely this is then a happy occasion? I'm confused.

It's called "assuming other people have an ounce of wit and
a sense of humour", it was big up until a few years ago.
