How much time do you spend online? Does the amount of time you exist in this virtual world bother you?
I've noticed I spend almost as much time online as I do in the "real" world, and I'm not sure if that is something I should be disturbed by, or not. I do know that it is ruining my ability to revise or deal with things that are far more urgent and pressing. Of course, that's not the internet's fault-if wasn't online, I'd probably be loosing hours making music, and there's the obvious issue of self-discipline-but it does seem to be strangely addictive.
It's probably the fact that, with the internet, you can find exactly what interests you, non-stop. It's just a few words and clicks away. In the real world, you have to trawl through books, meet lots of people, and do a lot of things before you stumble across exactly what you want. I'm not exactly going to meet people down the pub by the bucketload who share an obsession with audio editing and wanky debates on religion, am I? You'll meet the odd person, but in-between there's a lot of duff stuff to trawl through in "real life".

I'd bet it's quite a bit, but not so much that it bothers me, nor does it interfere with anything I do otherwise; the time I spend on the internet is time I usually don't do anything special (like wednesday afternoons) and in the breaks I take in reading/writing for my philosophy stuff...

It's not that much. When I've got nothing to do in real life and my friends are all busy, internet is a good hobby for me.

i never said you were calling anybody but yourself spazmo. nevertheless, i acknowledged your identity as spazmo, but for different reasons entirely. and now you are calling me spazmo. i guess you win *this* round. thank god the lunch hour's almost over...

A Large amount of time..
My computer is about a foot from my bed,my sofa,my kitchen..and only a hop and skip away from a toilet...So its a good place to be.
I don't think it's too much of a bad thing to be online so frequently though .. I mean most other people would be wasting their time watching brain-melting soul-stealing television..Hmm

I am online on several websites at the same time. This multiplies my online time. 6 hours a day I'd say... multiplied by 10... 60 hours a day for me

Im on the computer whenever I'm at home, or at school, or at work. (We have a workshop with a dual monitor beast) So I guess that equals all the time. Except weekends, I havn't forgotten how to party just yet.

i do 8-11 hours per day.. 8 at work and 0-3 after work
it's an interesting topic i think.. personally i don't find it good that everybody tends to make friends online and passes most of his freetime chatting to people..
at the other side it's the best and easiest way to meet the people with same interests.. but it splits us all up into interest-groups and all will end up in a bunch of groups which do not interact anymore.. people only meet people who do the same things and somewhere all becomes very boring doesn't it?
a good balance between real and online life shouldn't be lost.

i'm online mostly while at work. 8 hrs per day 5 days a week. on weekends i rarely even turn on the computer lately. got two fantastic friends to spend all the free time with. well, if some good internet friends supposedly can write me an email i'm doing my best to check the mailbox. Wanna see them all in person, by the way.
and not listening to music lately. wanna go outside but have to work.. only the unemployed can enjoy the spring.
