Laptops (which one to buy)

I am going to buy a laptop and i kinda REALLY wanna get a
Sony VAIO FS but now I am seeing these
Acer cheapo one sim not so sure they ahve a few
good ones like This. The only experience i have
had with laptops are pauls shitty compaqs which just seem to
fuck up and run like snails after a week of use so although
the specs for the acer looks great im not sure if its worth
it, and after all the VAIO look so much sexier lol

another question. Bus speed. Is it better to go for the
500mhz than the 400mhz or is there little difference?

faster bus speed is always better, means data is being
shifted around the system quicker

as for choice of laptop, i wouldn't hazard a guess. except
stay away from Apple

the confusing thing with fsb is that for example; i could
get the sony BX which has a celeron 1.6 533mhz fsb or a FS
with a 1.73 celeron 400 mhz now does the cpu drop equal out
with the increased FSB its all very confusing lol

if it was me i'd go for the 533MHz bus machine, as it's no
use having a faster CPU if your CPU is having to wait around
while the other devices catch up

fluid proof keyboard and screen would be handy. Apparently
the Panasonic Toughbook can withstand the wank release after
three weeks of total inactivity.

Just get the cheapest then. The Acers are good for the
money and reltively slim and light. Deffo check the weight
if you will be travelling with it.

well the acer's are nice and all but being in a foriegn
country i dont want to risk malfunction and having to
explian that my mother board melted via sign language. With
sony at leats its a Japanese company and well prolly quite
reliable, or is that just foolish belief in the bog shiny
pretty one?

when i was shoppin for a laptop a year ago, i had it down to
a VAIO or a Toshiba. I ended up going for the Toshiba M45
because it was slightly less expensive for virtually the
same thing.

Overall I am very happy with my purchase. It did have a
screen issue, but Toshiba replaced the screen for free
because it happened within the first year.

I've got an Apple powerbook, never had a problem with it and
its nearly three years old.

Going to upgrade this summer, all being well.
