Yeah. Its just a nord modular one with a quarter of the
processing power. Its aparently well worth it, and they show
up sporatically, so if you end up having the cash for one
and its on ebay, grab it.

Only problem being is you need four midi conections to use
it. One in and out for the programmer, one in and out to
play it. You can always switch back and forth.

it's sometimes so cheap that i would even jus buy it for a
small test really.

before i toss myself into high-shelf evolvers and so on :D

hanal: hey that was quite helpful. as rob if it's worth it
:>

You just reminded me that I have been planning on getting
one of those, and then I went to ebay, and bid on one, and
then I realized that you were probly eyeing it too, and it
made me feel like an idiot. It will most likely go past my
maximum on the last day, and I won't try to bid on it again
if it goes higher, but sorry anyways... :(

Even if you have synth experience, the evolver takes some
getting used to. But once you do everything makes perfect
sense.

hey that post cheered me up mate :D but actually IF you
actually find it worth buying than bid! i'm not sure how
much i can afford really. i thought about 100 pounds or so
but i already see that this one on the uk ebay is already
above 100.... so bid away !

Ah ok :)

I feel better now that I realize you were eyeing the UK
one.

I will bid till my wallets sore :D

Seriously. Ebay is the worst evil to hit the world since the
printed press.

Yeah. I would probly be in the midst of paying off my credit
card if it weren't for the occasional purchase I make on my
ebay, keeping things at a steady -$2500

damon wild played from final scratch on saturday. the system
worked fine but he played the worst set i have ever heard in
my life.

This is where it starts for me:

Either Virus or waldorf

And then it ends up being Sequential Circuits, 303,
Micron and ensoniq

Then I end up checking out yamaha, and bid on a $100 two
operator fm synthesizer that reads minds but only partially
works.

a micro modular ?? yikes !! rob hall uses a micro modular.
omg ! i have to have one. i want to be rob hall too ! yes. i
will be rob hall to !

no really - i already got over this stupid hype about buying
gear that known artist's have on stage. i even rather try to
avoid them. but knowing that he uses it makes me rather feel
comfortable about that it seems easy to use live.

(actually, what did he play? i have actually no idea who rob
hall is nor what music he does... heard this name maybe once
before...)

I've got one, it's very nice! Only trouble is it uses loads
of midi ports; the standard in and out for control then
another 2 for the software control.

But once you've got your sounds and effects saved in the
unit it becomes an amazing live tool.

I am not a footballer. I am just pretty good at watching the
auctions I like for a good price. Unfortunately, I haven't
gotten any of the prophet's, or the waldorfs or a fizmo yet,
but I am always watching the auctions

It depends. I usually don't end up paying customs when they
seller ships it USPS, but I always do when they ship it UPS.
UPS generally costs $35-$70 more when they ship from out of
contry, so never use UPS to carry your shipments.
