I like people who use real names, but if they have a boring name it doesn't work. Chris Clark is a bit boring but it still has a certain ring to it, its punchy. Not like Keith Fullerton Whitman... its a crap name, I would try to steer away from it if I was him. Amon Tobin is a great name. Brian Eno. I know Venetian Snares (which is a good name I think) doesnt release as Aaron Funk but I'm not sure I believe thats his last name so its a bit silly. But then Stevie Wonder is the same thing but thats a great name.
Hiphop people often use a little bit of their real name. Like Dr Dre, his name is Andre. And 2Pac. Warren G. Eminem (awful). Then there's Jay-Z which doesnt mean anything but it sounds like it should be related to something.
