my car...

...is out of comission right now. lugnuts on the left rear
wheel decided to fly off all at once while i cruised around
a corner. at least the wheel got stuck in the wheel well
rather than fly across the road. anyway, i have to drive
this big old boat of a car i have to drive for the moment
being. it's my mom's old ass chevrolet caprice classic.
rather nice of it to die on a hill this morning, letting me
roll backwards without brakes and steering.

Sounds like fun! I'm probably going to be buying a peugeot
106 w/o power steering in about 2 months or so.

hevquip (and others)
have u seen the new porsche carerra GT?
(the convertable roadster... actually looks new, not like
every other porsche)
nice...

i think porsche making an SUV is pretty stupid... they make
sports cars (damn good ones) and shouls stick to that
they dont even make sedans, what r they doing w/ an suv!

im sure it will be a good vehicle though.. it IS a porsche
afterall

959...ha! no way! those are 100,000+ dollar cars. that used
to be porsche's supercar until they came out with the GT2.
if you actually do happen to have a 959, you'd be a very
lucky and rich person.

hevquip, I got it after someone had run it into a wall and
rolled it! It was an insurance write off, but in my infinate
stupidity I thought I could fix it up for less than $20000.
WRONG!!!! $37000 and counting.

bugatti veyron 16/4. quad turboed 16 cylinder with 1000+
horsepower.

i dunno...for some reason it reminds of the 70s... not a
pretty decade! : )

besides, it looks so.... so... north american!
lol

i would take a wrecked 911 turbo of some sort over a 959
just because the 959 is a much rarer and valuable car, so
it's going to cost a hell of alot more to
maintain/fix/repair.

eh? well it's a redesign of the car that raced in the 1960's
(i think), hence it looks a tad old fashioned.

i think the americans made quite a few cool sportscars, the
viper, the corvette, the er, ehm... okay they made 2 great
sportscars. plus this one :)

the gt40's look nice. the new ones will be for street use.
the originals were only for track use, but they had to make
a few to put on the street to qualify it for production
class.

i didn't know they were going to actually manufacture the
new gt40?? i was aware of 2 protoypes, but that was all.

it would be great to see these things on the streets,
though.

north american (well, just american i guess, there are no
canadian car manufacturers!) cars always try to imitate
european cars...

they do it so shamelessly too, on their commercials, their
like:
"the styling of a european car..."
"the comfort of a european car..."
"the handling of a european car..."
"the performs like a european car..."
"the name of a european car..."

lol... i find it quite funny..

i mean: holy shit ford, stop sucking up to the europeans,
and just admit they make better cars!! .

haha! i didn't know that! those commercials sound funny.

if the americans try to make european cars, why are there no
peugeots, citroens, fiats, alfa romeos etc. in north
america??

offline hevquip from megagram dusk sect (United States) on 2002-03-04 22:57 [#00111672]

because those are the crappy european cars. anyway, there's
fiats and alfa romeos around n. america.

good question!
i think its because north americans have big ego problems...
and so we need big feul guzzling monsters of cars to keep
our confidence up... ; )
hehe

people in small efficient PRACTICAL cars would just get made
fun of by their friends who drive fucking HUMMERS!

even in big cities, small and efficient cars aren't that
popular (at least not NEARLY as popular as they are in
Europe/japan)

its quite stupid really...

crappy? maybe fiat, the rest are pretty much up to standard.
it's VW and opel who are getting sloppy with their new cars.

well, gas is WAY cheaper on your continent than it is here
in yurp, so you have a point.

heh thats true everything has to be bigger in the US. that's
why you canadians built the CN tower, innit? good job there
;)

(october)
yes it is older than most of you
and it still goes... miracle!!!
but life is ending for "him"
I think I will miss "him" a lot...it is mine since 4
years...but I spent all my life since i was 5 years old in
that car... so much travelling round spain with my family...

My car is a 1968 and is still running fine. It's also from
the american era when "Bigger is Better" and "Too much is
just enough" were the way of thinking. I get about 10 miles
to the gallon. I don't drive it much anymore because I
can't justify killing the earth to 'look cool.'

Haha, if it was anybody else, I'd say that I feel sorry for
him, but on the occasion of you destroying your car, I'll
just say that you're a moron.

It probably had something to do with you destroying your
car. What kind of childish idiocy have you commited with
your plastic gizmo, heh?
