I've tried to get a little better at photography. Out of 305 pictures today. Here are just a few. Some grafitti (for Hanal). :)
Train one Scene-Sien5 Unintelligible In a railcar
I have some more decent ones, but not the time to crop/upload them. Notice I didn't add any stupid effects like in the past. I've figured out how to use this clunky camera, somewhat effectively.
Thanks for stopping by.

There are going to be close to 100. Should I make a basic web page archive for you all to browse?

No website making programs installed, so here's a ZIP file. Maybe not 100 pictures, but I eliminated many.
Enjoy!

It's fun to "VIEW AS SLIDESHOW". I accidentally put one image on twice, sorry. It's a grafitti image.

Hey, Jon!
I answered your email. Love 'house2' and many others. Whatever you do, don't sell that camera. The colours you're getting from it look awesome. The only bothering thing really is the low resolution, it really shows in those photos.
I hope you get a website going for those railroad photos. Looking forward to more.
/Jonne

honestly, these aren't very interesting photos. they're clear, which is good... but just taking a photo of something cool doesn't make a good photo, it just means you can look at the cool thing later. these are the sort of photos that you'd take on your vacation somewhere, but they aren't interesting as art.

i have to agree with r40f here. you just documented some stuff you saw, not really taking into account things such as composition, contrast and colour.
low resolution pics are ok, until you see pixels as little square blocks. If you're serious about photography, go for something serious like a canon digital.

do you think art should primarily be interesting or pleasing (yes, yes, the one doesn't exclude the other, which is why I asked what the primary "effect" (-ish.. can't find a better word) of art should be)?

onto the pics: the first one is great, but maybe you should actually do some photoshopping on it.. a slight increase in contrast (don't over-contrast it like the hype is today) and maybe something to make the wall seem more white than yellow?
in the two graff pics, the graff is awesome.. the last one could've been kind of that tiltshift photography thingie which apparently can be done in photoshop, and I think it'd look nice, so try it out...

not to start some huge argument here, but i'm sure you agree that you can hardly call photographing someone else's art, art. Especially if nothing else was done except framing the subject so that it shows virtually nothing else.
in my opinion, when you consider yourself a photographer (in the artistic sense of the word), the primary goal IS indeed to make the photo interesting, to distinguish it from an 'image' used only to document a particular subject.
on a different note, i think you have some interesting photoshop ideas.

there's no correct answer to that question - it is different for everyone. what someone gets out of art does and should vary from person to person.
personally, i enjoy being affected by art the most, regardless of whether it is a "pleasant" feeling or not. sometimes great art makes you feel terrible.

well, yes, the graff pics are a bit "this is cool" and then one is looking at the graff, not the pics, but what about the two other pics?
r40f: if there ever was a correct answer, that would be it!
as for me, if we're talking visual art, it'll have to be something I enjoy looking at; something I find visually pleasing (which doesn't imply that what has been depicted needs to be something "beautiful").. same goes for any art, actually.. just subsitute "looking at" with "listening to" or "tasting" or whatever...
